every country has a policy of not negotiating with terrorists, kidnappers or enemy states. why is israel being forced to be the exception? wouldn't it be logical to exclude terrorists from negoatiating? don't be naive and look up what hamas is doing and wants to do.
Also i realise Gaza citizens will suffer greatly from having no fuel, but you have to understand how much Israel suffers under the constant rocket attacks launched from Gaza.
If you want fuel you need to stop these people firing rockets into Israel, accept israel's right to exist, and come to the table to negotiate the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Also with the fuel going into Gaza , the problem is that the fuel is used to make and launch rockets,if there was an authority in Gaza which would activly prevent such fuel being used in the manufacture of these rockets then perhaps such measures would not be needed.
As far as i see it I don't see Israel having much of an option.
the middle east will never be free of zionist terror and oppression until and unless the united states of america is free of zionist control and oppression.......
what about irael kill woman and children and also detroy palestain house and steal their land as well???? they are the people of Phraon os mass murder. die to irael and American support them as well.

I wonder why Al Jazeera isn't looking at human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, or from the Palestinian government, which has the largest police-per-capita ratio in the world.
roman: there's a lot less anyone can do for populations oppressed by their own governments. of course what attracts continued attention is the fact that Israel is an occupier, and in particular Israel continues to oppress gaza.
Isn't that the UN's job, since it passed the universal declaration of human rights, isn't it supposed to promote them? If you don't think they can do anything about govts. that opress their own people, consider China, which opresses and occupies Taiwan or even Turkey and Iraq which opress and occupy Kurdistan. I don't see the UN doing anything about that....
u will find the answers to ur questions in the BLACK house in washington. america claims to stand for freedom and democracy yet shakes hands with and allies itself and finances kings and dictators in the middle east? a crock of shit.....every1 clearly knows america is only interested in maintaining its CURRENT monopoly as the sole world superpower....speaking of china, china will soon teach america the real meaning of payback. just wait 50 years.
I do agree that some of America's allies are not of the most moral standards (such as the Saudi royal family, etc) but this isn't relating to the topic at hand, which is the United Nations and what I percieve is hypocrisy.
roman: You are nearing your gripe, but apparently you're still not willing to be explicit about it. The guy in the vid is getting out yet another message that Israel's behavior in the ME world needs watching. As bomba pointed out, we support them, and maybe it's time to re-examine some of our views on that.
roman: China occupies Taiwan? The Kurdish part of Iraq has been a part of Iraq for quite a while. The Kurds in Turkey are a classic case of a population being bullied by its own gov't. You appear to be bringing stuff up instead of stating your grip with AJ's coverage here.
Most of those govt's are wither usa puppets or were created as a result of usa actions. THe ppl of the mid east actually want freedom; it's not thier fault that the empire won't let them have just like in latin america. The once fine republic with it's values of 'Peace and trade with all nations' is down the piss pot, what's left is the war driven diseased empire ruled by incompetent Caligula's. You guys are going to go the same way as Rome unless you go back to what you were founded on.
Like it, or not, Hamas IS the voice of the people; marginalise and down-trod a population for forty years, and they WILL become radicalised and violent. If israel, and the west in general, respected the human rights of the palestinians, the power of violent groups would wane, and, eventually, all but disappear.

Something you should have done in 1948.

Hamas is included in the negotiations if they renounce the violence against Israel and accept it's right to exist.
Neither of which Hamas is willing to do.
You cannot have peace if one side doesn't desire peaceful settlement of the problem.

True. Israel is on a disaster course that has been repeated countless times when it comes to dealing with asymetric warfare.
