Dear lord don't diss Chuck Jones. This movie was under appreciated. Yes the song is a good song but no these two deffenetly do not go together. The reason why is because Gay Purr-ee is a classic animation. The song Simple and Clean is a new ageish song. Of course they don't go together but don't get mad at Chuck Jones for not making it so it fit a song that wasn't invented yet.

@Mickeanelamburtsters This came out before the Aristocats. Gay Pur-ee came out in 1962 and Aristocats came out in 1970. And no, the Aristocats didn't rip this movie off either, the plot lines are very different.

Gay Purr-ee is really very awesome, visually, with graphics that are like paintings. Check out some of the background designs, and the montage sequences. Such gorgeous colors and styles. Chuck Jones really did a super job on this film. It blows The Aristocats away visually.

I like both films but the music and design work in this one are amazing.

I got a copy from Amazon. Played it once, love it but as it isn't coded for my Australian machine, can't afford to have my machine not play my home dvd's. Pity, as it makes buying dvd's from America pretty expensive. Any chance of having America and Australia sharing the same code?
