  • the worlds most expensive toy lol :) (toy being the i.s.s.)

  • omg thats so cool 2m setup

  • any advice for a total novice would be gratefully recieved!

  • @NeuroParadise Hello, tune into 145.825 MHz, using your packet radio program and have a sat tracker with recent keps (keplerian elements), so that you know when they are going overhead at your location. Have a read at the ISS Fan Club to see if the crew are active or not or to see if the packet radio system is operational. Good luck.

  • a friend gave me alinco dj-580T, which TNC should I use to form a packet radio? please guide me a little bit! just beginning to packet radio.

    TIA.

    H

  • Hello, I didn't use a TNC, I plugged the radio straight into the PC sound card and use software called AGW packet engine and UISS. Look for them and if you need further help, please email me.

  • whats your rig, i expect the hardest part is to get the yagis aligned and keep them on target.

  • Hi OH8XAT, let this be encouragement for you. I use a 5 watt hand held running through a power doubler, so 10 watts out, into an omnidirectional 1/4 wave on a mag mount.

    Get into it mate. :-)

  • Great work. I hope i can do that one day guys.
