Well, they probably felt a certain pressure to keep things respectable- for two interconnected reasons: most people watching the TV (then still quite a conservative medium) would have little knowledge of ska or any types of Caribbean music- and many people still were a tad racist, maybe assuming that Caribbean music would be about sex and nothing else.

As for the young woman, she would be 65 now, I reckon- assuming this clip dates from 1965-67 and she was about 20.
