Yeah, but very briefly. Prince took her under his wing at the very beginning of her career, but he had very little involvement with the music, other than 1 song he gave that he was going to give to the very first protegee he wanted to shepherd in 1979. She wrote this song herself & judging from how poorly it did both on the pop & R&B charts in America, which tended to be typical of Prince's protégées on the Paisley Park Records label, she jumped ship from Prince very quickly after her debut LP
