There are times when a knuckle ball is apropriate(IE driven shot)but when you are teaching children and or just trying to perfect your technique being able to put the correct spin on the ball is very very important.This is what my coach tells me.
For a power shot you don't have spin it's true... but to bend it like Beckham around a wall (inside spin) or to drop a goal kick or pass over or around opponents or over the goalies head (back spin pass or shot), the pros use lots of spin. Check out the pass to Messi in the Euro championship for the second goal: inside spin pass!

the ball is a great idea
but i think that the way theyre showing this in the video there is way too much spin on the ball
well at least for my liking
ive played all my life and my shots dont have spin anymore....almost like a knuckle
