I have idiopathic allergy ( i think its stress) and swell up with edema about 4 or 5 times a year. Its last about 3-4 days before the swelling goes down....even after going to the hospital for benadrly and ranitadine I.V.'s . I do not stay in. I go out- so waht? a few people see me when my face is swollen up.....i know its the edema- the wpeople who know me know its the edema- who cares what a stranger thinks????? I am me- and iI get angio edema occasionally

Hi- I have the same condition. For me, it's been controllable, however. When I had more frequent attacks like yours, my doctor put me on 1 zyrtec pill a day (over the counter). This is an antihistamine that stops the swelling from occurring. After a while, I dosed it down to 1/2 pill a day, and eventually stopped taking it. Now, if I ever feel an attack coming on (itching, tingling) I take a zyrtec and it prevents it from getting worse. Never itch or bite the area -- that will aggravate it!

I am 37 as of yesterday :(. Anyhow mine also started of as hives on my legs and arms. Mainly at joint areas like the back of the knees, elbows. then it worked its way to stomach etc. Look into HAE and ask your dr to test you for it. I believe it is HAE and whenI get back to the US I am going to find a specialist as everything I have read up on point to this. Good luck and keep in touch! Where are you btw?

10 years..wow, and how old are you now? I have had'em for about 3 years now (23 now), before that i only got hives (small red dots), and then one day, boom, i got face raped. . ;p No i have not been tested for HAE, is'nt it passed down from family, cause no onw else has it in my family.

What kind of new drug, at this point, i'm up for anything ;)

I feel your pain, i have hives on the exact same place, right now. This shit is the worst. How long have you had thoose hives?

About 10 years! I get it about once a month it sucks! How about you? I have been tested for HAE have you? There are injections you can have now but it is still in the trial statges and I dont feel like being a guinea pig!
