  • nice guitar. nice sound too! i love beat-up guitars. mint-condition nes are nice too, but i like the "worn" feeling of a beaten-up or old guitar.

  • the fg180 is the Elliot Smith´s stage guitar!

  • Elliot was a great songwriter and performer. Sad story. I didn't know about his choice of guitar. Thanks for the info.

  • There"ll be ver few persons even remotely caring about this triviality, listening to Elliot Smith..

  • That happens to be the reason I found this here video! Elliott Smith's guitar is the one I want.

  • Eliott Smith is the greatest!

    I want his guitar!

  • @lindatomzz did Elliot Smith install a pickup on his guitar?

  • Nice guitar.

  • I really want to have a yamaha fg 180... it's in my mind for 3 weeks now and I dont know why but I am sure that I will get it... somehow...I play the guitar for a long while but I want this one so badly... to watch this video makes me even feel worse... just have to save the money... oh and great playing

  • Guess what, I have one too. bought it new in 1972 and it is a red label Nippon Gakki. And, it plays wonderfully, better than my Martnin sometimes. I'm not sure what sort of pickup I put in mine years ago. but it is a great guitar.

Great work playing bye the way. I liked it.

    Charsal

  • i have the ame guitar:P

  • Beautiful playing

  • Thanks!

  • Hello, Nice playing there... I have 69 Yamaha fg180..Great guitar... Is yours made in Japan... Does it say Nippon Gakki in side the sound hole?? Thanks..

  • Yes, the red label says Nippon Gakki. I think the guitar is late 60's, like yours. When I bought it on eBay four years ago, the seller said there was some 'delamination' of the fretboard. Only when I received it did I realize that the neck had been clean broken off and glued up by the head. The fretboard delamination was an area around this which was easily repaired. One other issue is the peg holes in the bridge are splitting making changing strings tricky.

  • Ahhh...I really like this. Good to see your smiling face, amigo.

  • Wow!

We couldn't have done it better ourselves! Thanks for using our pick-ups! Your playing is sweet!!
