  • what a sweet singing voice iam crying wilst iam listning to this song

  • that was a fine fine song thank you brings a bit of a tear to my eye

  • This is absolutely great! It is all I imagine about Irish people; get together, around the kitchentable of grandmum and -dad a floting away in the memories of the past in combination with the inborn talent to sing and play: BRAVO!!

    lots of love from Hungary.

  • @vadrozsa So true and Christmas is a time when we all do this as well. I come from a very large extended family and every year we all gather all 236 of us at my grandmothers house for tea and sandwiches and a good old sing song. I think that the fact that my grandfather died christmas day 15 years ago contributes to this but even if that had not been I think we would gather anyway. It seems to be an Irish thing passed down through the generations.

  • @mickandpauline the English made a good impression of their culture when I went to London... wth do you mean you've lost it?

  • There is no sound more beautiful than Celtic music like this; thanks for sharing the video with us.

  • Hi, nice singer!!! I'm a simple brazilian man -- but a person from a great Country!!! And, with my hot and romantic brazilian heart, I want you know that I admire very much the folk, history and culture of your Country!!! And, about your voice, I don't need speak very much things... but, only, that you sing very well... My compliments, sweet and beautiful ireland, celtic singer!!! Bye!!!

  • @ricardobrasile type in niamh tyrone and see what you think of that song. its my favourite irish song on youtube

  • great song by Percy French, always gets the home sickness kick started

  • I pretty sure they are many versions of this song....i ve soooo many.

  • ha she doesn't evan know the lyrics you can see her looking down to read them every now and then

  • aww coome-on ... project fer crian out laud!

  • great

  • sounds like a dying cat..

  • great

  • Hi, the lady is a great natural singer.

    Easy to listen to.

    And good looks too.

    What more is there?

    more please.

  • Ahh my part of the country..well the mournes..if you haven't been there..go!

  • Keith Harkin with Celtic Thunder merits a listen. I haven't seen much of the Mournes this yeat as I've a notion someone's trying to drown us.

  • I completely agree about Keith! He does honor to the song.

  • More crockery display would help.More miserable people too and the added attraction of the banjo ..great song either way!(only joking really)

  • @martcarey lol, some of them do look pretty miserable, don't they?

  • lovely lady singing a great song

  • Not seen this for a while. She's still a great singer, but didn't the fella in the glasses on the mandolin tour with Eric Clapton a couple of years ago?

  • fucking hell that wall paper is bad,

  • u related to Oscar Wilde?

  • can i ask where this took place? it's so nice

  • I loved this and I must have played it 11,200 times at least.

  • Hello, I'm Johnjarvo's twin brother.

Ignore his comments. This is Fab. She is a fine singer and grows in confidence as the song goes on...

    Lovely.

  • Very nice voice, but she obviously doesn't know the song. Who's Willie McClaren for God'd sake? Listen to Don McClean's version and nail it! The voice is good though...

  • the lyrics to don mccleans version are not the correct, original lyrics so please dont comment if u dont know.

  • What is correct? Don Mc Clean took this rebel song and put it into the 20th Century; that's progress man. Anyway, it's the version that I want to hear; and I'll comment on it ...if YOU DON'T MIND...

  • okay settle down, all im saying is u commented that this lady didnt know the lyrics by saying "who the hell is willie mcclaren?" and they are the original lyrics...which proves my last post.

the only thing u did prove is the phrase 'when there is no defence, go on the offence' is still in use.

  • Look, I'm used to the lyrics used by DM, which are more user friendly than the "original" ones by Percy French. OK, you make your point by correcting me and being rather pedantic. But listen to Don...he's your man. I think the blonde in the video has got potential; if only she'd used Don's lyrics...Ah well...

  • its not a rebel song you dick head--written by sir percy french

  • You better not say that to my twin brother...you spineless git....

Go and boil yer head....in Waterford...

  • Who is this lady ? She has got a nice voice.

  • What you guys are missing, commenting on things like key and a total lack of slickness of presentation; a lack of formal training and so on; is that this lady has a natural, effortless voice: brimming with emotional feeling for the song. I am bewitched!

  • What you guys are missing, commenting on key and maybe a total lack of slickness in presentation (creaking chairs too) a lack of formal training and so on, is that this lady has a natural, effortless voice brimming with emotional feeling for the song. I am bewitched!

  • are u kidding the cracking of the chairs makes it better...its much more homely and alive...

  • I like Percy French too. My favorite Percy song is The Emigrants Letter.

  • Nice crockery and colander!

  • this northern irish guy likes her.

  • Wrong key. Way too low. Not a great version of the song. One,two,three---one,two,three--your next dance please!

  • when percy french wrote this he wrote it as a waltz - so yes its a dance song!

  • whats wrong with the big fella he looks like he would give prozac depression?

  • great voice! would have been nice to hear the whole song-ie the intro
