Ive run most versions of Linux in Virtual Machines, and in all of them I've been able to get Compiz Fusion working. The only one I can't seem to figure out how to turn on Compiz is Xubuntu 9.10. I have the Compiz settings manager installed, does any1 know how to turn on the advanced effects?
Can sum1 help me....i have ubuntu installed on my computer but i dont really no how to use it dat much....iv watched loads of videos on it and nun of dem helped=[Email at oisingough@live me if you can help
Nice. If possible, please post a guide to setup something like that; some not-so-old machines in my job could benefit greatly from Xubuntu with Desktop Effects ^^.

Ubuntu and Xubuntu are SO much better than windows in general haha... I mean, these effects are pretty killer, and for free! :)

It's pretty easy.
Do a google search for Xubuntu.
Download the ISO use an ISO program to get the files on a CD.
Boot of the CD see if you like it if you do.
Double click the install button.

1. How did you install candido on xubuntu? Any guide?
2. what media player do you use?

1) You should just be able to untar the candido theme into your .themes folder and it should work.
2) mplayer (without gui)

How did you enable this cool effect to switch between windows ? Is it an option in the "Animations" plugin ?

Do you mean the dodge effect? Yeah, go to Animations > Focus Animation > double click on that line and select dodge.

Thanks...Candido GTK2 theme, and Lux emerald theme. Forgot where I got the background though.
