Okay, a quick look at serebii reveals that while Murkrow and Pikachu are NOT in the same breeding group, Lopunny and Alakazam are. And it's established in the game that the species of the child is based on the species of the mother. So TECHNICALLY, Lola's family isn't wrong, though Posh would have gained some of her father's attacks because that's how it works shut up?

It still doesn't excuse the crappy story.

No, Lopunny and Alakazam can breed, they are part of the same egg group. The offspring would be a Buneary, as an inter-race pokemon breeding always produces the lowest evolution stage of the mother. Pokemon are fictional life-forms, from video-games, they don't have to follow real biological laws.

Everything about the grammar, writing and characters was true, but please dont comment on the series the fic is based in when you know nothing about it.

@TheOnlinewarrior094 I just looked it up and that is completely true. The various wikis say that Lopunny and Alakazam are both in the humanshape egg group and Buneary would be the result of a female Lopunny and a Male Alakazam. In the Pokémon world, a little cat can breed with a giant blue whale and either get another little cat or a smaller whale.

Yeah, Buneary evolves (levels up into) a Lopunny, so it technically is a child version of it. Various Pokemon have varying evolutions; some don't change at all, some have multiple evolutions, and some even have branching paths based on thing like... how happy they are, and... radioactive stones...

When it comes to Pokemon breeding, it kinda has to do with them being in egg groups.

Supposedly, according to serebii, Lopunny CAN produce an offspring with Alakasam, because they're both part of the "Human shaped" egg group

(However, it says NOTHING about Pikachu being compatiable with a murkrow though)
