  • You probably got another pair by now but maybe try Freecycle?

  • In Berkeley, CA we've got a place called The Wilderness Exchange that sells loads of used gear. Also, we've got the FreeCycle Network here and it's going in many other cities. You can offer something to give away or ask for something from others. Or put out the call to your email network? Or go on Craigslist and buy a used pair of hiking boots. Also, REI sometimes has a used gear swap (Recreational Equipment Inc - a grea company in US - do they have in Canada?). Good luck!

  • deb, great ideas. On my island residence, we have a 'mall' where alot of the townsfolk drop off any used or unneeded articles, including shoes/boots, and likewise 'shop-around' to 'take' home! Can't beat free.

Maybe radicalford could network with a couple like-minded enthusiasts in her town and engineer such an operation locally?

But def hit up Craigslist thought too.

  • It was a week ago I decided it might be something worth trying to get others to do too.

  • 3 months?

You posted the idea about the consumption challenge only a week ago...

    Good luck, bootless girl!
