  • Hi, Im writting a SH story myself (like everyone else at some point of theit lives) thanks to you guys i realized that i was going in a completely wrong direction, so thanks again! Your videos are both fun and informative, loking forward for more, and more....and more.....and mo more.....an...re...a.. ore.......a...............r....................

  • Have been wondering for years, who Is the Man talking at 1:36 around Alessa's Hospital Room? Thanks Guys.

  • Why Cheril represented as a creature in the weelchair at the final scene? She was locked in Alessa's body?

  • This is a very helpful and informative summary of the plot. :)

  • I've been playing this game for years, and it is one of my all time favorite's. And now I fully understand it. Thank you SO much for this extremely helpful information!

  • This was epic! PLAYSTATION 2...2...2...2....

  • The good ending is canon, not the good+. The algawhacthamacallit is collected in the hospital, and Harry gives it to heather, the necklace with the red orb at the end of 3

  • @wickedraven21 You can achieve the good ending without even having the red liquid in your inventory.

  • very awesome video ! you guys are true silent hill fans .

  • very awesome video ! you guys are true silent hill fans !

  • 5:00 "The only real one is the Good+ ending"

    I beg to differ.

The main difference between the Good and Good+ ending is that Cybil lives, and considering we don't ever see Cybil again or know anything about her (aside from an indirect mention in Homecoming), both endings are plausible.

  • Love the use of O Fortuna. lol

Though the thing I wonder on, wasn't the fire Alessa was caught in part of Dahlia's ritual to implant her with the Demon?

  • @foottothenuts And you're capable of discerning such things over the internet? Who died and left you to decide who's life video games are a big part of? Just because I have my likes and dislikes, and that they don't match yours, you think you have the right to come here and tell me what's a big part of my life or whether or not I am a gamer? Get a life, goodness. Stop being a stupid little troll.

  • @foottothenuts Some current games today, that many people like, I dislike. It all comes down to personal preference. Last generation didn't match my personal preference as well as this generation as I find that there are more games this gen that I would like to play.

Like I said, you're pissed because I don't agree with you. I never said that my opinion was fact. I just said it was merely my opinion. I don't have to like what you like in order to be a gamer.

Kid, get off you tube and get a life.

  • @foottothenuts Excuse me, but video games are a big part of my life. And I don't need you to judge whether or not I actually care about them. I do. However, they aren't the greatest thing to happen to me. So I don't look at every game and think that it's great.

  • @foottothenuts And if you're older than twelve, you need a life if noob is part of your vocabulary.

  • @foottothenuts Maybe you shouldn't make assumptions, you're not good at it.

And you're calling me a retard because my personal preference doesn't match yours. So who's actually retarded? Nah, you're not retarded. You're just damn idiotic.

    "FUCKING NOOB"

Excuse me, do I look twelve years old to you? Obviously I do. Go ahead and go call other boys your age noobs. But it isn't a word grown ups use outside of the occasional joke.

  • @foottothenuts Stating my personal opinion and preference makes me retarded? And you make a blind assumption that I play COD most of the time. At least that's the context I see it in. I used to play it quite a bit, when it was about all I had for my 360. But I've been slowly expanding my collection and have hardly touched COD lately.

  • This is gonna be random, but what's the name of the dramatic song at 3:58?

  • @hikari0049

"O Fortuna" from the Carmina Burana by Carl Orff

  • what did lisa do to kauffman in the ending, did she kill him?

  • I didn't think that the PS2 was all that great. I mean I did before I got myself an XBOX. But once I got the XBOX, I decided that the PS2 was more of a cheap toy. Although the XBOX doesn't have Silent Hill 3, which I can play on my laptop when I want to, it does have Silent Hills 2 and 4.

  • @the0real0realitykid silent hill 2 & 4 are in xbox too...i played them there, and xbox was good console with a 80% of lame games,ps2 had better games and most of them ported to xbox.

  • @lexzeyfercronus Ya, I know that Silent Hill 2 and 4 are on XBOX too. I have both of them. And I mentioned that in the last sentence of my post. I was saying that Silent Hill 3 (sadly) doesn't have an XBOX port. And, in my opinion, most PS2 games sucked. In fact, most games in the previous generation sucked. However, a lot of what got ported to the XBOX were great games.

  • "There's sirens!"

I thought you meant beautiful sea women...

  • However, I Love So Much Ur Vids, U Both Look Like Nerds, That's Why I Like U (I'm A Nerd Too, HeHe) .^_^.

  • Like On SH 3, The God Within Her Can Make Things Happen.SH Origins May Be Not As Good As Previous Games, Though I Think May Explain Some Things For The Series (Though I Still Think The Baby Birth A Little Awkward). However, Three Asylums In A Little Town, That's Crazy (Literaly).

  • Hello ^^. I Love Ur Explanations About SH Series. Although I May Disagree With Some Facts, Like Alessa's Burning Cause. I Really Think Alessa Was Burned By Her Mother, Because That's A Typical Way Of Sacrifice In The Religious Silent Hill's Cult. In the Book Of Lost Memories It Says That The Victim Can Be Burned As A Sacrifice. While On SH Origins, Alessa Says That Wants To Be Burned (Wanna Die), But The Fire Disappears Allowing Travis Path Duo To The God Within Her Making The Path Clear.

  • in the end of silent hill 1 when your in the room talking to dahilla, who is the person in the wheelchair?

  • @DrPain2008

The person in the wheelchair is Alessa, her physical body. The Alessa standing next to her is Cheryl/Alessa, the spiritual projection.

  • @TwinPerfectChannel oh... that makes a lot of sense, im suprised i didn't fiqure that out on my own, well thanks a lot for clearing that up for me.

  • @TwinPerfectChannel this game gave me a hard mindfuck and headache... but after 2 headaches and HOW THE F- everytime something happened.i liked the game. and now im playing amnesia... and when you ask me what nightmares i have... thank amnesia and sillent hill at one game....

  • @TwinPerfectChannel It confused me because in a cutscene you see Alessa and other than the bandages her face seems unscarred and yet in the game in the wheelchair she is basically a mess of blood and bandages :S

  • if the monsters in part 2 are in his mind are they real in part 1

  • @CloneCaptain123 in the first, they're parts of Alessa's nightmare and represent many things about her..

  • @gostoneph17 ok thanks

  • hey guys... is lisa dead in this game? what does she means when she said "Im the same as them" ¿¿??

  • @luissh2

Lisa is dead (died of an overdose). When she says she's the "same as them", she means she's manifested like the monsters are.

  • @TwinPerfectChannel Thanks!!!

  • @TwinPerfectChannel Huh? How would she not noticed that she was "possessed?" Wouldn't have had that parasitic thing in her back controlling her like Cybil did. What were those btw?

  • @TwinPerfectChannel

I believe she isn't dead when Harry meets her, but the sole nurse remaining to become "transformed". Heather states that she is grateful for the care Lisa took of her, so Lisa was only an innocent bystander devoured by Otherside, much like Harry.

  • @TwinPerfectChannel Like Maria?

  • i dunno why, but this reminds me of runescape. No offence, its still a good game, silent hill i mean.

  • i thought the dev team left the fate of cybil ambiguous so the good and good+ endings are both possible within the established canon

  • @onlinegamer85

But there is hardly any evidence towards Good+ being canon. Heather only remembers Harry's wife as her mother, and the file Harry left for his daughter to discover, did not mention Cybil at all.

  • Queer religion. Yup yup. Couldn't have said it better myself. XDDD

  • You guys need to check your facts.

It was the cult who burned Alessa as a part of the ritual to impregnate her with the God.

The boiler explosion was just a cover-up.

  • @dan2024

    Watch the rest... :D

  • You guys mentioned that Harry was supposedly at the ritual? What do you guys mean by that and what is the significance of it?

  • I have a question. If you look at all of the characters that are pulled into Alessa's nightmare in Silent Hill 1, you can see that they're all people who were explicitly involved with the situation concerning Alessa's impregnation. However, Cybil is not involved whatsoever in any of that, so why was she pulled into the nightmare as well?

  • I'm enjoying this but I think I will start again tomorrow or I'll lose a whole day

  • I have a question for TwinPerfect:

What is your guys' explanation for why Silent Hill is already abandoned and falling apart from the start? If it does not take place in a "parallel dimension" (as often assumed), then what happened to drive everyone away? Silent Hill 2 shows signs that the town is being rebuilt (Southvale, at least), but it is still void of all human life. Why?

Was there an earthquake? Volcano? Hurricane that washed out the roads? Why does it take so long to restore the town?

  • @MegaBearsFan I think Team Silent noted at one point that they wanted to leave that to the player's imagination, but I would like to hear what they think themselves.

  • I fully agree that Good+ is the correct ending. It requires the most work by the player without being only available in a repeat playthrough. Why would the designers create a scenario in which being the most diligent and doing the most work leads to the "wrong" ending?

  • Samael disliked this video. Very nice review by the way

  • What happens to Cheryl after she disappears into Silent Hill? She becomes the mental projection of Alessa once in Silent Hill? And was it Alessa's projection of Cheryl who was attacked by the Flauros? SH is confusing -.-

  • @hammerheaddummyface

Cheryl was half of Alessa the whole time, but in Cheryl form didn't know who she was. Upon returning, she returned to being Alessa, and Cheryl ceased to be.

  • I've got a question. at the end scene @ 3:35 The person in the wheelchair is Alessa, and the girl to the right is Cheryl right? but I thought you said that by this point, Cheryl had been reunited with Alessa... and if Cheryl is the one stuck in the wheelchair, who was the person how walked in front of Harry's car at the beginning of the game?

  • @1337Ravage

Cheryl became the mental projection of Alessa, this is who you see at the end. The "Alessa" that crashes the car is left to the imagination...

  • Doesn't god give harry the baby? Why would Alessa give Harry a reincarnation of herself with the demon inside if the whole point of this game was her trying to kill herself and the demon?

Also you said Alessa is spreading the seal to counteract demonic forces. What are these demonic forces-her mother? Because she is spreading demonic forces herself involuntarily . She's trying to seal off the town to destroy it and herself correct?

  • @kurohebi9996

As far as any of the characters in SH1 know, Harry just got done killing the god. How would any of them know the baby would retain part of the demon?

We didn't say Alessa spreads the seal to counter the demon forces, we said that's what the seal is meant for. Alessa is trying to use it to keep her dream from acting on reality (if it is used everywhere, the demon will be sealed inside her permanently). Dahlia shows up and gets her before she can complete her mission.

  • @TwinPerfectChannel But doesn't Alessa/Cheryl die after Aglaophotis is used on her?

  • @kurohebi9996

After the demon peels open her back and climbs out? Yeah, she dies.

  • What is the name of the song in the background? Thanks!

So the projection of Alessa is spreading the seal to protect herself and keep the nightmare world around her because Dahlia cannot enter the otherworld ?

I've been on Silent Hill Haven and they are saying all different things so I am confused as to what is true.

  • Lisa is addicted to PTV, not White Claudia.

  • Also, It would be interesting to hear what you guys thought of Jacob's Ladder. The movie has a real Silent hill feel and I'm not really sure which came first.

  • @Tailsplit

EXCELLENT movie. Jacob's ladder was a huge inspiration for Silent Hill, particularly the nightmare sequences.

  • I thought Silent Hill was supposed to be set in Centralia, PA

  • @Tailsplit

That town was used as inspiration by the makers of the movie. It is the reason many think that there was a coal mine fire (there wasn't) and that the snow in the air is actually ash (it isn't).

  • Nope! The Good ending is the real ending! Cybil does not survive in canon because Harry would not know what to do with the liquid in real life to save her! Errrr! Wrong! ;)

  • @Scanman22

Errr! wrong! Silent Hill developer Hiroyuki Owaku confirmed in the Lost Book of Memories that Cybil's fate AFTER the events of SH1 is up to the player. The Lost Book of Memories even confirmed that Harry found more red liquid for the sake of Heather. And Silent Hill: Play Novel showed that Harry knew how to save Cybil due to the color of her possessed eyes matching the color of the liquid. ;)

  • @Scanman22

You might want to check out TRSHE Part 13.

  • @TwinPerfectChannel - I did but it doesn't change the fact that the canon ending is the Good Ending! If Harry used the red liquid on Cybil (which he wouldn't have known to use some random red liquid on her when she was possessed) THEN he wouldn't have been able to have any to give Heather in the necklace for SH3. It would have been gone. Explain to me how he could have known to use it on Cybil and then explain to me how he would have had it still then to give to Heather in her pendant?!?!?

  • @Scanman22

The Lost Book of Memories confirmed that Harry found more red liquid for Heather AFTER the events of the first game.

    Here's the quote.

"It would seem that after the first game, Harry once again procured some of the liquid for the sake of his daughter."

Hence, there's a good chance that he used the red liquid that he found in Silent Hill on Cybil.

Thanks The Lost Book of Memories.

  • Did you guys ever mention why it's snowing in Silent Hill 1? I know there's fog because of the reason that the town surrounds a lake...

  • PLAYSTATION 2!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great analysis guys. It's made me appreciate the intricate and multi-layered plot of Silent Hill even more!

  • Good+ is the "real" ending?

I understand there's ambiguity, but only because of Hiroyuki Owaku's statement in Lost Memories. In terms of the game itself, both Plus endings are the closest thing to a logical impossibilities in terms of being a canon ending.

The Good ending has the only real claim to legitimacy, both in Lost Memories and by common sense. It's disappointing that this otherwise fine video includes such blatant misinformation, because people will view this and think it's true.

  • @rtangs

Oh get over it. Whether you like it or not, Cybil's fate is officially unknown. If you want to believe that she died, that's fine. If you want to believe she survived, that's fine too. It's up to you. Owaku confirmed that.

  • @john26571

    Maybe.

The point is, this video claims that Good+ is the real ending, which is patently untrue. This is, at best, a possibility which exists only because this comment appears to present it as ambiguous.

Of course, that's one of the least of this video series' problems.

  • @rtangs I hope you're watching the follow-up video "Questions Unanswered"

  • this is awesome. you guys are so proffesional. you should have a contract with the escapist. and what's more you're actually interesting to listen too.

  • ....arguably, it's usually said that the good ending is the cannon one, not the good+ ending,

  • does Cheryl become the corpse in the wheelchair or the alessa we see throughout the game?

  • @rulesofachia the Alessa in the wheelchair is the 14 year old physical being. Cheryl becomes the Alessa you see through the game.

  • @fungo Thanks a bunch. I always assumed that Cheryl was kidnapped by Dahlia and killed. :/

  • There's 1 thing I don't understand. Near the end of the game Harry watches a flashback of Dahlia trying to "Borrow some of her power" and Alyssa said she just wanted to be with Dahlia, ad Dahlia starts talking about "Herein lies the mothers womb, containing the power to create life, I could have done it all myself!"

What is she talking about? I always assumed it had to do with Alyssa being burned (I know better now that I watched the whole TRSHE, thanks btw.)

  • Oh, oh, question ! How do we know good + is the real ending ? I always thought it was the Good ending the real one, since we don't know anything about Cibyl after the first game.

  • Haha! I love you guys, goddamn it!

  • ...Should I be worried that Silent Hill is very close to Portland, and Portland is very close to where I live?

  • @Swordyyz Be very worried.

  • Also, while i hate to doublecomment, you guys keep referring to the God as "he", whereas the games have only referred to Her as female, most prevalently in the second game.

Awesome work compiling all this into one movie overall, though. I'm impressed with how well you've been putting this together.

  • Probably been pointed out, but it's never said where Silent Hill is. Maine is only one theory, although it's been hinted at by Team Silent that West Virginia is where they imagined it to be.

  • @DarkeHarte

Team Silent has hinted that it takes place in Maine, since Portland, ME is where Stephen King is from. This in combination with the first half of SH3 taking place in a city called Portland (Douglas says he "thought [Heather] was from Portland") leads to the conclusion that Silent Hill is in Maine (the car ride from Portland to Silent Hill seems to take only a few hours).

We also talk about SH3 taking place in Portland in TRSHE Part 3.

  • @TwinPerfectChannel - They didn't hint it took place in Maine, the game manual and I believe even the back of the case both explicitly state Maine. The movie is the one that randomly decided on West Virginia. The weird part of the series is how there are so many Civil War references to prison camps and battles when that stuff wouldn't have existed in Maine though. Plus, don't the American games (SH0, 5) hint at West Virginia or border/southern state? It's a mess! I miss Team Silent!!!!

  • @Scanman22 In Japan only there is a cellphone comic series written by Hiroyuki Owaku with characters from Maine, going to Silent Hill, Maine. This is the exact plot info on the wiki: "Brian Dawson [...] resident of Augusta, Maine... Tempted by Lindsay Crystal, he takes a visit to Silent Hill. Brian's already passed away father is from Silent Hill..." "Lindsay Crystal [...] resident of Orono, Maine." "...she visits Augusta to research Silent Hill, 'a town where the dead return'..."

    Thanks Owaku

  • Guys keep in mind that we haven't seen even half the movie yet. It is possible they will go back and examine details, just like they have so far in their Alessa Sacrifice section.

  • @jesusclownfox

If you wanted to get really REALLY nitpicky, you could have gone further and said that the drug is known as "White Chrism" when used in rituals.

  • @TwinPerfectChannel They just said that the actual drug is PTV. lol White Chrism is not PTV. White Claudia has hallucinogenic properties, but the plant itself is not the drug. And I'm not totally sure, but I don't remember it saying that it -was- White Claudia, although it can be hinted as such.

  • You guys need to start fact-checking. The Good ending is canon, not the Good+. Hang around the Silent Hill Heaven forum for a while.

  • @StagB

I think it's you who should start fact-checking. Cybil's fate is officially ambiguous. In the Lost Book of Memories, Team Silent member Hiroyuki Owaku clearly states that what happened to her after the events of SH1 is left to players' imaginations. This contradicts the whole "good ending is orthodox". She could have died, went into hiding from The Order or been abducted by aliens. Whatever the player thinks happened to her happened.

  • @John26253

You're gonna have to explain to me how Harry would have possibly known to throw the aglaophotis at Cybil.

  • @StagB

The official Silent Hill novel and Silent Hill Play Novel state that Harry threw it after he realized that the color of her eyes (she was possessed) match the color of the red liquid. It may sound stupid but that's what they said.

You could also say that Harry did not want to kill her and simply hoped that the red liquid could save her.

  • Wow you guys are really helping out I gotta say, I knew alot about Silent Hill by reading the Translated Memories book but to hear it from you guys is really starting to get clearer, The pieces have fell into place and soon they will fit together when it is done. THANK YOU

  • the real ending was the good ending not the good+ ending

  • Keep em coming.

I prefer to think Harry's Death is the true ending. It coincides with endings of other games, being it's all in the player's head.Origins did that with one ending. Shattered Memorie's entire plot was based on imagined events. One of Homecoming's endings was this.

But I will not mention Homecoming, oft considered the bane of a Silent Hill fan's life.

  • I just wanted to add that one of the things I really loved about Silent Hill 1 was the severely dream-like quality of the dialog in the game. The cadence of the dialog is awkward and the music is usually Twin Peaks-like which completely immersed me in the world. This is was I think is lacking from recent efforts at the game and why the don't feel the same.

  • Epic stuff guys, keep up the good work.

  • the real ending is where Cybil dies. Because Harry raises Heather by himself

  • @st4rk1ll3r666

Yeah, because Harry and Cybil didn't run off and get married, she must be dead, right? Give me a fucking break and stop being a moron, please.

  • um, I thought the official endingS were the Good and Good +, as Cybil's fate is never revealed..... and UFO ENDING!!! it MUST be canon. UFO Ending 2 PROVES it!woof woof!

    also, fave part

    PS TWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vary cool guys! Cant wait for the rest. Too bad the series fell off a cliff. lol.

  • Really awesome start. Can't wait for the rest.

  • I loved these videos, but are you guyz gonna address Cybil not being in the 3rd game?
