Memory is such a vocal masterpiece that it's hard to judge, but I would have to go with Barbra; the first to contemporize and popularize the song. Her arrangement and powerful vocals are sublime. I recall a review that said "Listening to Streisand's Memory is perhaps, the reason vinyl was created in the first place". For you children, vinyl is what record albums (black circular disks that play music) were made of.

Great showdown! I love Barbara,Ellen,Betty,Sarah and Celine's soft rendition of this song but Mara Getz for me still stands out because she took the song to another level. All of the singers versions portrayed a sad and soothing tone whereas Mara's version gave a raw and desperation emotion making the lyrics more dramatic.
