  • WOW Great THX

  • 42,000 views? At least half of them are mine. I love this video.

  • I don't like bitching about pop music lol but wouldn't it be great to hear some garage rock on top 40 again???

  • Filmed at the east end of Zuma Beach. They used extras and kept us locals out. Thata why they look so goofy in the water.

  • I hope Don realized how much people not only dug his music and paintings but also appreciated him as a person. He'd didn't have much contact with the outside world after retiring from music in '82, yet his death feels like a huge loss. A great artist who will forever be fondly remembered. What else could anyone ask for?

  • RIP Don Van Vliet . The Captain.

  • Briiliant! I always thought I imagined this song from my childhood. Here is proof I didnt. Great to hear again after all these years

  • LOL!! at 1:44

  • @lamccaugh: I noticed it too before reading your comment. The Captain doing some wobbly knees dance moves. So freakin' cool!

  • @jezmundberserker He looked like he was doing the Charleston!

  • Ahhhhhh that fucking bass. Heavy before heavy was heavy. You feels me?

  • Check the bathers out ! excellent guitarist

  • you still got that 357 behind the bar

  • the one person who went out of there way to dislike this clearly has no soul....and I'm not writing this so you can give me "thumbs".

  • May you find peace in eternal chaos, Captain. I'll forever be your shipmate.

  • RIP. Someone who wasnt afraid to be original.

  • RIP big fella.

  • RIP, thanks for the music.

  • The Captain really has a great voice. The harp playing is OK but I've heard him do some really kick ass harmonica playing on the "Strictly Personal" album.

  • AMAZING JOB!

  • Doug Moon, Jerry Handley, John French and Alex Snouffer in this video (audio sourced from A&M sessions most likely). Ry Cooder wasn't around yet, he was really never a member, more a session musician who thought about joining, but thought better of it. Note his absence in the Safe As Milk photo shoot, even though his slide is all over that LP.

  • @blackpage555 He really wimped out .Guess Cooder thought about running for prez one day lol :)

Ry Cooder is not on lead here.

  • The bass sound on this record is amazing. I love how they blended the harpsichord into it!

  • Is this version on any of the nuggets albums?

  • @purdy1986 Yeah it's on the Nuggets box set.

  • gumbalin trumbalin veselo qpon4e

  • Running Jumping Standing Still does an amazing version.

  • ry was only around for the first album..safe as milk. diddy wah diddy was before that, and didn't appear on any album...but i don't know if he was on the a&m sessions

  • @onezitman Diddy Wah Diddy is on an LP, I think it is called "Clear Spot."

  • he could rock before he got totally in outer space lol....i like both sides of him.

  • Great but..... it looks like the Captain was

not in command of his ship,

(stranded on the shore of diddy land)
