According to the memo it was in 1998 that the source reported Bin Laden was recruiting Muslim youth for an attack. I don't think that Bush and Cheney were in power in 1998. I think it was Bill Clinton and Al Gore. If Bin Laden was recruiting in 1998 why would he NOT attack if Al Gore had become president in 2000. The attack would have STILL happened and over 3,000 Americans would still be dead. We'll never know what Mr. Gore would have done had he been president. He may have done the same thing.

Have you even watched this video? If you pause it at 11 seconds you will see that a source reported in 1998 (!!) that Bin Laden was recruiting for an attack on the US. This report was given to Bush saying that the threat was unable to be corroborated. Simply put, (because for some things have to made simpler) THE THREAT THAT WAS REPORTED IN 1998 (!!) UNDER CLINTON (!!) WAS NOT ABLE TO BE PROVED. Therefore Bush didn't do anything more with the threat than Clinton. So why blame ONLY Bush.

The reason that nothing was done was because there was too little known at the time to jump the leagle hurdles. Yes, even though the Bush administration knew about the attack, it might have been difficult to prevent the 1st attack. But THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PREVENT THE 2ND ATTACK OF BUILDING or HAVE THE PEOPLE ON TOWER 2 EVACUATE since they can recognize the 1st attack as the terrorist attack. But nobody informed the city of new york to evacuate the tower 2. what do you think about that?

The people should have at the least been evacuated. I would have been difficult to have done anything about the second attack though physically as shooting a plane down over a city could have caused just as much damage. But you are right, if they suspected it being a terrorist hijacking than they should have evacuated not just persons in the WTC but in other high-risk buildings.

In 2000 the Pentagon had a drill with a commercial airliner hitting it. Who do you think they were suspecting, especially after repeated warnings?
