  • 0:01 that knee was so nice!

  • You can drop the hand of the side you're kicking with as long as you remember to tuck your chin and bring your shoulder up. You have to take into account that he's throw mid-level kicks and not leg kicks. With leg kicks, the counter punch is a problem. With the body kick, the opponent usually is too far out of range to punch back (immediately). Although, if he catches the kick he can change that real (real fast).

All in all, Vera has beautiful kicks!

  • That is a proper kick...who's teaching you? your hands must come down for torque so kick would be stronger. That was a real muay thai kick. YOu cannot kick good having your guard up..thats amateur

  • lol at some loser on youtube saying he can kick better than a pro fighter.

  • haha I agree, Vera owns !

  • maybe you should post up a vid on how to do it better folks .

  • The Kick's is alright...I can do much better but Brandon Vera is a nice cat at least his representing for the Muay Thai fighters in the UFC...

  • Man, in Muay Thai, I would get slapped for throwing my guard down on each kick.

  • No kidding, bamboo shoot anyone?

  • 1) he's training.

    2) he fights mma.

    3) you're over analyzing.

  • you have to throw your guard down if you want to kick proper. You cannot have a real kick and have your guard up. that kick would be a weak one and your body stiff. Than was a proper muay thai kick.

  • when you have good technique you learn how to keep your guard up and have great power.

  • that cannot happen. look at thai fighters and the twist they do. See how the arm drops down when kicking. Is newtons law. 'every action has a opposite and equal reaction'.

  • In such a kick the hands, the twisting motion of the body brings about tremendous force. The hands is part of the kicking technique. When the right kicks the left hand is in the face and the right hand is in straight for distance and more force. The secret of the kick is not in the feet delivering the kick but the feet that stays in the ground.

  • the hug was so necessary

  • i second that.

  • call it respect and appreciation for the team/trainers he has.
