i personally had to have mine removed because i had braces from grade 5-8 but then they started to grow in and come through the gums in grade 9 (like a teething baby).

the teeth pushing out might have ruined the brace work so i had to have the extracted.

You know they don't have to put you out at all when you get your wisdom teeth out. Simple novocaine injections make it a relatively painless process, plus it's less money and you don't get any of the nasty side effects of anesthesia. I honestly don't know why dentists still do it this way, unless it's requested.

No, NOT everyone has to have it done. I've never had it done and most likely will never have it done, as they are fully grown in and my teeth are straight and have plenty of room. Without having them removed you would have extremely crowded teeth. On top of that if they are tilted you can get food down in them and create an infection or a cyst. Plus they can get impacted which can lead to pain and other problems.
