I love this end solo. Amazing vibratos and great feeling. One of the best solos of Michael, IMHO, together with the ones of Lost Horizons and Lights Out. Btw, great job! :-)
At times a bit raw but nevertheless compulsive viewing and only serves to emphasize the genius of Herr Schenker himself. A master guitarist who combined technical brilliance with immense tone, melody and superbly structured guitar solos. As for this splendid effort the section from 0.55 onwards sends a shiver down my spine ever time I view it.
Ray...you ever heard of a rock group called budgie? I have seen them live back in the 70`s and 80`s, check them out and a song called "parents", its on youtube. please please give the solo`s a go!
Nice - Schenker could do anything "off the cuff" because he used to practice 10 hours every day, I wish I had the time for that! He's just so fluent, he can play brilliant stuff as easily as other people can speak a simple sentence!
Michael Schenker is the man Eddie Van Halen was afraid to replace in UFO! (according to Phil Mogg, when Eddie was not enjoying his time with DLR in Van Halen)
Ray - great effort for a great song!! Thanks for posting the link 2 me. You've done so well to get so much of the detail sounding so close to the original.
I wonder whether you could combine the best elements from the song's Studio version (on the Lights out album) with this live version and end up with something that was better than both, or whether you just have to stick to one or the other, cos each one only works best in its own context??
Soulsearcha : I actually prefer the 'live' version, but the 'Studio' version is also Great ! .... When i play covers 'live' i generally like to play 'solos' with a bit of 'Studio / Live' ( Mixed) versions .... Not that i've played this particular song in Bands ! But hope to one day Ha !
