  • Do the tv and playstation need to be pluged in before u can turn on the box ?

  • Hi I need help. I can't record in the default format because it lags on Sony Vegas, but MP4 doesn't, although when I preview it, it's zoomed in. How can I unzoom it without changing the format of the video to AVC. Please help!!!

  • How do you change the FPS you record in? I see yours is 59.94 fps, and mine is double that. I don't know how to change that and it's really bothering me. And also, when i import the .m2ts files, there is no sound, only the video. Please answer I need help! :(

  • wait are the first cables the conponent cables or the ones that come with the HD PVR please respond

  • @TheTechnoCreator u must buy the conponent cables .. :D

  • my component cables have a yellow cables from my ps3 :S

  • You didn't even have to convert the video. Sony vegas doesn't do M2TS format. What did you do? =/

  • @DirectorRico u have to have hd cables to use the HD PVR

  • If I have SD chords only / SD TV, Do I plug the Xbox Composite into the front?

  • thanks!

  • When we recording we need it plugged into a pc or laptop right?

Can I use an external hard drive instead?

  • @Panda4Cash Yes, you have to have it connected to the PC at all times while recording. I suggest recording only to your PC's harddrive and not an external harddrive. Recording to an external may cause it to skip frames and it probably won't record properly.

  • @xxTDGPainxx hey why are you missing parts on you're screen? like on top and bottom? because when i record it cuts parts on the screen from the sides and im trying to fix but i cant

  • @xxTDGPainxx so you can use a laptop too right?

  • @Panda4Cash i use external and it works fine

  • windows 7 yes?

  • imm a noob haha but how do i find my bit and what does it mean???? help

  • @myeyeofthetiger1996 Just click on Format Settings in Total Media Extreme. Sliding the Bit Rate bar right makes the video higher quality and sliding it left makes it lower quality. You should always slide it all the way to the right, but if it looks like your PC can't handle that much processing power, then it's suggested that you lower the bit rate.

  • @xxTDGPainxx it keeps going to the left corner when i bring up in sony vegas 10and try to edit

  • @TheRussianxHitman Make sure you have your Sony Vegas project settings set to 1280x720 HD. If it's still doing it, then right-click on your clip in the timeline, and select Event Pan/Crop. Crop it so it takes up the whole frame. Remember to name that crop template and clicking the little floppy disk in the upper right corner to save the template. So whatever slip you import, just apply that crop template on that clip.

  • @xxTDGPainxx thanks i understand thaat but how could i find out what my pc bit rate (or what ever ) produces. and it should not matter if i have a slower pc and i put the bit rate up on high it is just gonna take loger to render to youtube correct

  • @myeyeofthetiger1996 Yeah, if you have a higher bit rate, it will take a little bit longer to render on youtube, but not by much. If you want faster youtube renders, then i suggest lowering the bit rate on TME to 8 or 9.

  • @myeyeofthetiger1996 all right because my mom ows me 400 and i get it next week and mw3 is comming out and i goona make some videos and try to get big and i was wanting to know what did you use to recors your voice in your videos i just want an a amzing Quility and a clear voice sound how would i get that like some of the big youtubers

  • How do I change my input resolutin from 720 x 420 to 1280 x 720 ? Please help.

  • @GimzoH Go to your Xbox 360 dashboard and go to console settings. Find display settings, then HDTV settings. Select 1280x720.

  • @xxTDGPainxx It only says 480p / 720p / 1080i / 1080p . And I putt it as 720p so i would have 60fps and it is widescreen so you dont see like who kills who or whos mic is talking..

  • @xxTDGPainxx How do I do that on PS3? :/

  • I get on the total media extreme main menu and click record video and nothing happens, can someone help me? please :(

  • @MehhRuuulll Have You got Enable Preview Ticked?

  • @xNzEEhV I cant even get onto the recording bit, its on the very first menu when u open the program up

  • Can you help me?

When i open up Total Media Extreme, it is just a black screen! I've plugged everything in properly, how do i fix this?

  • @TalentedFalcon make sure your playing on 720p and not 1080p

  • can ur xbox 360 be 1080p

  • can you type on the video when your editing

  • im on the ps3

  • how do you set your resolution at 1280 x 720 any1 please help

  • When I'm done recording, you can only see about 1/4 of the screen. My resolution is set at 1280 x 720. I'm not sure what to do.

  • @DopeSnipingClan you have to click on playstation 3, so it records as a M2TS file.

  • Thx man !

  • What does hardware acceleration do, does it need to be checked?

  • and side question would i be able to record tv programs like football games and stuff

  • do u need to have an hd tv for this to work because i got my xbox 360 with the standard yellow, white and red cables. i dont have the other blue green and red cables because i dont have an hd tv. will this still work and will it post hd videos on youtube

  • @DoubleUGameplay No it won't. In order for an HD PVR - Clue "HD" you need a HD tv with at least 720p resolution. It's kind of logic its like someone buying a standard dvd to try and work on a blu ray player it wont read it.. Buy an HD tv follow the settings and setup in the video and it'll work.

    Heres a list:

-Component cables for your console (£15/$25)

    -Hauppague HD PVR (£155/$200)

    -Console

-Sony Vegas Pro (check my video on how to get it for FREE)

    -Total Media Extreme (recording programme)

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • I need help, i got everything done. But 1 problem. Nothing is on my screen Nor the capture module thingy. Why is that? i have my ps3 set to 1080i. Go everything good. but it doesnt work?

  • @lilpatty619 Change your PS3 settings to 720. 1080 and 720 there is NO difference.

  • why is my source resolution 30 frames per second please help

  • sooooooooooooooooooo helpful

  • why is it when i plug in my hd pvr into the pc, my tv doesnt starts going black?

  • Great Video Tutorial thanks so much

  • hey man, how long will this take to render in vegas??

  • @GottaLoveCoD It depends on a number of things:

    -The speed of your computer

-How long the video clip is

Using the settings above with a 10minute clip should take 20-30mins. But if you have other programmes running whilst rendering it'll take much longer. Go on the ps3/xbox or something whilst it renders.

  • What did you record on your computer with?

  • @PKKLeader He recorded with Camtasia Studio Recorder

  • Me e espanol. Do i still selecte de ingles optiono? Mi prefierro responde rapido

  • Hey xxTDGPainxx

If I want to record with my HD PVR than i click TotalMedia and I am always on "source resolution" in 1920 x 1080 @ 30 frames per second on.

I absolutely need like you at 60 frames per second. you know how can I change this?

    - TehFlecz

when i set it to 720p what do i need so i can have picture cause it wont give me picture and it'll set it back to 420p.

im playing on an 32' Flatscreen LG 1080p TV so its not like im playing on a junkie piece of crap.

also could it be because i also have my Turtle Beaches put in along with the cables.

    i doubt it

thanks :) hope u respond. and a happy person will get you a sub :)

  • @trudog223 The only thing I can think of, is that your component cable is not set to "HD". There's a little switch on the cables itself.

  • @xxTDGPainxx yeah i tried that and it still didnt work... :/ and while i had that set it showed up on my HDPVR in total media extreme and i turned it to 720p and still nothing :/

  • on your format settings, ur source resolution says 1280x720 60 frame rate and mine says 720x480 30 frams, do u know how to fix, please respond !!!! :)

  • when ever I import my recording into sony vegas 10 only the video gets imported, not the audio. I don't understand why because when I play the video there is audio in it, when when i drag and drop it into vegas, only the video shows up.

  • @KiWiCrappy In total media extreme, go to format settings and select AC3 audio instead of AAC audio.

  • what do u do if it says "drivers have NOT been updated" in step:1?

  • My HD PVR quality looks like crap and there's a black bar on the right side. My computer is a piece of shit so I guess my RPM on my Hard Drive is causing my bad quality?

  • did you get the total media extrem program on a dick or can you just download it from the net ?

  • why cant i change the size in total media???

  • @KalleHaraldsson You can't record using HDMI. You have to use HD component cables. You can buy Xbox 360 component cables at Gamestop, Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

  • great video

  • my color is jacked up please help!!

  • were is my video bitrate. mine says : Total Bitrate 9658

  • my input resolution isnt 1280 by 720 and it wont let me change3 it!@

  • @DCskater749 You need to change it on your game console. On your Xbox 360, go to the display settings and change the HD resolution to 720p.

  • @xxTDGPainxx i did that just right now look at my killcam it was recorded with my tv on 720p

but the lines are still there look at my vid on my channel

  • @xxTDGPainxx i got it thanks!

  • I have the Red,White, and Yellow component cables for my xbox 360. and those are in the back of my tv. And i have the component cables from my Hauppauge HD Pvr 1212. Those are in the back of my Tv and into the back of y happauge. When i go to "Format settings" on my ArcSoft Capture Module on my computer. Under "Source Resolution" it says Source Not Locked. So im pretty sure it cant find the source. Do I need the red green and blue cables for my Xbox? Im so confused. Please Help!!

  • @RaziiHD You need to buy component cables (red, green, and blue cables) for your Xbox 360. Then you need to plug those xbox cables into the back of the PVR.

Then plug in the hd pvr cables; (one end into the back of the pvr and the other end into the tv). You can find xbox 360 component cables on amazon "dot" com.

  • @xxTDGPainxx It won't let me change the input resolution and i have a black screen

  • @MontageInHD You can't change the resolution in Total Media Extreme, you have to change it on your Xbox. Just go to display settings at the dashboard and change it to 720p.

  • Is your sony vegas cracked or purchased version? :-)

  • @TehPeaceHD If you want to record your PS3 in HD, you'll have to buy PS3 component cables separately. The cables that already come with your PS3 are standard def.

  • My computer doesn't read the disc =(

  • PLEASE HELP!! ok i play through the component cables of my xbox 360 but i have to have the switch on the video cable that plugs in the back of my xbox on SD does anyone knows if i would be able to record with the HD-PVR?!?!?

  • This was a great tutorial but I have one question, when I open the clip up in Vegas 8 only the audio pops up not the video but when I go to where I saved the video I can watch it in Windows Media. Does this have something to do with Sony Vegas or what? Thanks

  • @Zeussyy the same thing happened to me and i got vegas 10 and it worked

  • Nice tutorial. Where'd you get the Portal 2 background?

Also - I've been using an HDMI cable for XBOX-->TV, will the picture on the screen be affected that much?

  • @solrflare HDMI supposedly IS better quality, but I doubt you'll notice a difference by switching to component.

That was a while back, but I'm pretty sure I just searched 'Portal 2 wallpaper' on google images and found it. I LOVE THAT GAME! :)

  • @xxTDGPainxx So on my 360, I'm using a HDMI cable, can I still use it instead of my red yellow white cables?

  • Device settings Pal B or NTSC_M??

  • tou are a hero my friend.

  • when mine is in total media extreme its cropped on the sides not top to bottom. how do i fix it?

  • best setup i've ever seen

  • real nice tutorial mate, but so many people tell different things. I saw one guy who said that you should have 29.70 in frame rate instead because "it will look better, trust me".

Do you have any explanation why you have different opinions? Is it about what game you'r playing or something

  • @SetZxProductions I don't think it makes that big of a difference (on YouTube) whether you render your project at 60 fps or 29.70 fps.The only difference is that it takes longer to render if you choose 60fps. The only reason I render at 60fps, is because if I want to watch my own videos on my computer, they'll be in a nice crisp 60fps.

  • real nice tutorial mate, but so many people tell different things. I saw one guy who said that you should have 29.70 in frame rate instead because "it will look better, trust me".

Do you have any explanation why you have different opinions?

  • Thank you, this really helped me out.

I was having some trouble, but you really just explained everything i needed.

    Thank's alot, man!

  • dude i need help when i use my pvr it wont let me play in 720p and it comes out as 30fps

  • @OxyGENxWAY Set your Xbox to 720p by going to console settings on the Xbox. Go to display settings, then go into HDTV settings.

  • @xxTDGPainxx yeah i do that then it stays black :(

  • whats NTSC or PAL?

  • @Deafjerzy Most countries have different TV signals. NTSC is the United States and PAL is Europe. Also, SECAM is France.
