To clear up the misconstruction about the song, It was originally called the mechanix (as written by dave Mustaine). It used Dave`s lyrics, and the Four horsemen speed (You can see/hear for yourself on the NLTL Demo or even live versions with Mustine). Metallica changed the lyrics and renamed the song and added new parts. Dave kept the original song, sped it up, and tuned a quarter step down. That is the REAL story

He influenced Hetfield, kerry king and almost every other thrash guitarist out there. His syncopation is insane and the way he composes is second to none. Search for the video where Metallica is playing the Mechanix with David, you'll notice that it's not played as Megadeth play it but instead it is played at slower than Horsemen speed. Kirk couldn't keep up the speed my ass.
