  • Great 90's flashback - just bought the CD on Amazon for 9 cents + $2.98 shipping. Helluva bargain.

  • This song is AWESOME and it was great for the 90's since I am a fan of 90's Music

God Bless Veruca Salt for a job well done

and BTW, this song was out when Richard Dawson returned as host of Family Feud and this song was out when Full House, Swat Kats, Step By Step, American Gladiators, California Dreams, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Home Improvement, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Ghostwriter, 90210, Party of Five, Blossom, Empty Nest, The Nanny, Frasier and Sisters were still on the air

  • @tnawcwvictoria So what?

  • L 7

  • bitchin'...

  • They don't sux but the f!@# sound/recording is for TARDS~!!??! WTF? Stick your cheap vcr in water and press record why dont you?!! I have this recorded and it does not sound this shi!@$ WTF??!

  • This is much slower than the Glastonbury one but the singing is alot better here

  • Did Nina Gordon undergo plastic surgery after this because she looks radically different in Volcano Girls

  • 1995: Big year full of women rock bands!

  • Yeah, on one of the more current videos I noticed their was a guy playing guitar. It was heavy and kinda poppy, but the spark wasn't really there. Thanks, if this comes together we'd be into sharing. Finding female singers is downright impossible here, but we will relent.

  • drummer sounds good

  • As someone who doesn't play any instruments but really appreciates music and hot women, there is nothing hotter than seeing Nina and Louise rocking out and ripping the $hit out of those guitars.

    Damn, that's HOT!!!!

  • These guys rock. I'm trying to start my own girly alterna-rock band. I have a singer, but finding these kind of players is difficult in detroit.

  • @centralscrutinizer66 i love Veruca salt since this song came out in 94 been a fan until Nina left didnt really care for them anymore Nina was the reason why i love the group i have the first and second last one that Nina was in wish she would of stay with them but her solo debut album kick ass her voice kick ass!!if you do form a Alterna-rock band and live uploaded on youtube

  • @centralscrutinizer66 Not really, it just depends on how old you are, honestly.

  • @madeyes4u I found that finding band guys was the most difficult when it came to the age factor. For some reason if you can convince a female musician that you're serious, the age thing doesn't usually come up. lol How do you know?

  • @centralscrutinizer66 just from personal experience, that's all

  • Girls who play an instrument AND sing or dance are so much hotter than chics who only sing. Watching Louise perform makes me want to pull her off the stage by her hair and drag her back to my cave.

  • there okay

aparently Seether (the band) got they're name from this song so i had to check it out

  • Disturbed isnt bad

  • Mmmmmmmmm I love Nina!!!!

  • she must have very busy and skilled fingers...

  • Louise Post > all.

  • I saw them twice in 1998. Once in the summer at the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT and in December at the Oakdale in Wallingford CT. The SNET Oakdale is probably the best theater in the country as far as acoustics and sound quality. Musically VS was the best concert I ever heard, ever. They put on a tremendous show and it was great fun. These girls are so talented, I wish they would reunite and tour again. Let the world hear some real music again.

  • cats!

  • WoW they are really live, good job too. awesome footage - great song!

  • I love these band it's too bad there aren't more bands out there like them

  • love it

  • why can't someone create Guitar Pro tabs for Veruca Salt songs complete with bass and drums , so I can jam their tunes on my guitar

  • my favorite female of the 90's is juliana hatfield.

  • @darr777 omg me too

  • love it

  • this is ace- it's a shame watching it has just made me realise how old i am!

i remember thinking this was the band i wanted to be in- now it has been 15 years. i still think this song is ace!

  • @NotSoNewby: isn't it on American Thighs?

  • NO ONE REMEMBERS 120 MINUTES????????????????

  • Anyone know which VS album this is on? Can't find it in my collection and I thought I had all their albums :(

  • @NotSoNewby - American Thighs

  • I used to listen to this song in the morning before I went to school. ah memories. I feel old now haha

  • 1995 saludos de Peru

  • nice.

  • gives me the goosepimples...great live stuff...i love this band.

  • I'm an instant fan of any song about vagina.

  • they sux

  • the lead singer should wash her hair.

  • There is no way you can compare the Breeders and Veruca Salt. People often do simply because they are both girl bands from the 90's. Personally, I think most 90's music rules but the Breeders are much better because Kim Deal is one of the most creative musicians of that era. Their styles of music are nothing alike and personally I think Veruca Salt was pretty boring but they had some good tunes like Spiderman and the one about the car spinning out

  • i remember this show, it was the 10th ann. of 120 minutes

  • saw them at glastonbury...oh....GOD!! in the 90's sometime...and oh my.....the lead singer gave me a hardon.....amazing!

  • I heart this :)

  • a classic

  • oh louise my love

  • Comment removed

  • I love the end, Hence why we have wireless systems now, so our favs don't hurt themselves.

  • fun band

  • actually i guess this is how shaun morgan (singer in seether who took their name from this song) would sound like if he was a girl :/

  • It does sound very Breeders !

  • riot grrrl!

  • Hooray !!

    for the Pixies..and all who..shall

rock in the name of ...

  • Pixies? Are you thinking that this is The Breeders? Common mistake. Not the Deal sisters.

  • Yes I am aware that the pixies are not the deal sisters..

I simply meant it is pixie-esque

meant to be a compliment and specifically the song

    number one blind

  • love the song love the video ... shame the quality is rubbish ....

  • surprised there isnt a video for that song "straight"

  • negative on the seether!

  • cant fight the SEETHER!!!

  • saw them open for bush in phoenix in 95 and the blew bush away. mucho gracias amigas!!

  • I'd love to have Nina ram me into the ground!

    I can seethe!

I'd love to see Louise foam at the mouth!

God was Veruca Salt a great band!

  • brutal!

  • I seen them open for tone-loc in oakland in 91', it was a great show.

  • ...anyone notice that the font for the song "Seether" in the beginning resembles that of the font the band Seether for its name...?

    lol

  • Lol not at first, but it makes sense, since that's how the band Seether got its name in the first plavce.

  • The Breeders - Kim Deal = Veruca Salt

    Still like it though

  • I always loved both bands but never saw the connection. No one writes like Kim Deal and she writes everything down to the basslines. VS was two different guitar/writers plus kinda always had this metal tinge to them.

  • The Breeders Rule!

  • Is it bad to adore both The Breeders AND Veruca Salt? I love both.

  • It's Not Bad At All Cause I'm A Fan Of Both. To Each It's Own And Fllow Your Music Ear. Fuck The Rest Of Opinions!!!!!

  • Original band? Yeah right, Lol...they were trying to be like The Breeders. Cant believe people cant see that. Lol!

  • you really wanna know? its a bit of a story about i can tell ya all about it and even turn you on to an unrealesed rockDoc of them No youtube doesent have it (ANYMORE!)- if so i will comment back this page in an instant. And send me a buddie req goodfans should spread good post-rock /riotgrrl grunge (and yes there still together minus one member)>>>

  • sweet.

  • Veruca salt and rilo kiley are my musical ladies, The long blondes too. All the best of the best, sad that i wasnt born in the 90's....mope

  • i was born in 79. The nineties were over so quickly it's not funny. You didn't miss out on too much.

  • love that f*cking song

  • i want to be there slave!!

  • Nina looks hot ! Why she leave the band?

  • Quality, girlz n guitarz n noize!

  • I love this.!

    what is a seether?

    anybody know?

  • The Seether is Louse Post, the girl playing guitar in the red tank top. This was revealed in another Veruca Salt song called "Volcano Girls". Look it up...good stuff.

  • Like the way the bass comes through on this version. Great song.

  • i hate my music generation -.-

this is what i call music.

  • wow!!!!! ke tiempos akellos!!!!!

  • The 90s was an incredible music era.....I miss it sooooooooo much......

  • so do i, so do i

  • the volcano girls!

    wow!

  • it sucks how music isnt made like this anymore... the 90s doesnt seem that long ago but listening to music today it seems like a life time

  • good song, bad ass bitches

  • i love thids video. :). is that a wrap? haahaa

  • i love this song . the seethers louise. lol :)

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhh

    Iloved

  • LOL, these bitches were so badass.

  • veruca salt can do no wrong.

  • al fin les encuentro...el video grunge mas frescaso

  • that drummer must be quiet ,

  • Veruca Salt was the template for my taste in women :P

  • is not the same guitar that louise use to play...

  • awesome song...they sound great live

  • hahahaha

  • haha. the end is so funny. It looks like Nina walks off and Louise grabs her by her guitar and Nina falls and lays on the ground. haha

  • Why in the F was the drummer singing backups on this? It sure as hell was not in the studio takes and it added absolutely nothing to the performance. Louise and Nina are to be the only singers on this song.

  • Jim Shapiro (Nina's brother) did do backing vocals on American Thighs and the song "Seether" but it was mixed in vocals so you really cant isolate his voice on the record. I agree he sounds kind of off key during this performance- at the end especially.

  • Wow, I had no idea Jim was Nina's brother. Any idea why Jim was replaced? Some of the live performances seemed to have TONS of mistakes by this band.... Surprisingly, this one was pretty good. Still, one of my favorite bands.

  • Jim wasn't replaced..he left the band to front his own band "Ultra Swiss" where he played guitar/sang. He was a guitar player first & foremost and taught Nina how to play when she started writing songs(over the phone when Nina was living in Paris).

  • When Nina & Louise formed the band a few years later they couldnt find a drummer so Jim volunteered to learn how to play the drums. He was kind of doing it as a favor for Nina and didnt think it mattered he didnt know how to play the drums because he didnt expect the band to become popular. haha. So after Eight Arms To Hold You was released he left the band and Stacy Jones (formerly of Letters to Cleo) took his spot.

  • Well that explains a lot. Jim was definately good enough for the band and the style of music. He repeated a lot of his fills etc., but I liked his style. Simply put catchy and unmistakeably Veruca Salt style. By the way how do you know so much about VS?

  • I've been a HUGE Veruca Salt fan since '96. They were my favorite band for a very long time and I spent probably a little too much time on the Veruca Salt messageboards and reading interviews/articles online, etc.

  • It's in other studio takes, though.

He co-wrote "Number One Blind" and his backing vox are in the mix on the record.

  • now Seether has to write a song called Veruca Salt

  • hahaha

  • They dont suck, you just arnt used to hearing bands that have musical talent, go listein to disturbed or hollywood undead or somthing, leave comment space for people with I.Q.'s above 46

  • I've heard The Breeders, and their songs are great for COMMERCIALS. Veruca salt isnt trying to be like The breeders, Veruca salt's WAY better than the breeders. Oh and if we're gonna talk about spelling "the90's...veruca salt is a ripped off of The Breeders."

Are they "a ripped off of"? are they really?

Oh and before you want to post a band sucks realize fans will be looking at the comments douche-nozzle.

    P.S. The breeders suck.

  • Lol! The Breeders have sold way more albums than veruca salt. Their Last Splash album alone sold more than any of verucas' shitty music. Why? Well, because verucas' music is shitty...lol.

That is one for the records, my darlin. Not to mention Last Splash also sold more than any FB's albums and he is way better than veruca .

You need to brush up on the facts before you wake up one day and realize you've wasted your life listening to shitty bands. LOL! That is one for the books.

  • You do know that crack is illegal right? its also bad for Your mental processes. be careful

  • @cloudaddistion ugh...disturbed.....

  • @jvillan85 ugh...douche nozzle

  • @cloudaddistion ugh... tone deaf douche BOTTLE! :)

  • @cloudaddistion dude. Disturbed, sucks! and HU are caucasians who think they were born in the ghetto.

My band is going to pioneer a grunge comeback. Thus, destroying the current douchebaggery of music.

  • @imaposer123 I'm with you on that one, man!

  • you suck.

  • beautiful...

    -tear-

  • They have a great vocal harmony.

  • yeah it kicked ass...until the douchebags at nbc made youtube pull all their shit off or they were gonna sue 'em. corporate assholes!

  • haha what?.comparing them to Nirvana? Thats BS

They totally sound different. Actually I like their riffs more than Nirvana. But Nirvana made me pick up the guitar. hehe

  • i love the voice of the blonde chick

  • You mean Nina? Listen to Benjamin on Eight Arms to Hold You.

  • and i'm sick of all these nirvana comparisons. great as they were, not everything revolves around nirvana. there were about three dozen other bands that were part of that movement.

  • She.. Is so thin. Whoa.

  • who the heck is that girl..wheres the blonde

  • She didn't dye her hair blonde until the second record.

  • that clip should still be around on here. ive seen it a few times lately.

  • funny that's how Seether got their band name.. VS is an excellent band.. 100% Grunge 100% attitude. Definitely hot!

  • GREAT VINTAGE STUFF ! Do you have anymore V.Salt videos on small stage like this such as SNL, tv shows etc. ? The sound is SOO much tighter and more powerful Punchy as opposed to the Huge wide open concert venues. Let me know please ! thank you

  • Notice Louise screw up the solo on this! I met them in 1997 and interviewed Nina. So hot!!

  • How can you screw up something that you wrote yourself? Im not being mean, it just sort of sounds like it, lol! but really how can you I mean you can technically *screw it up* but really you can't because its yours and who knows maybe she just changed it....=)

  • no, she hits the wrong not coming out of the solo at 2:37

  • I cant even hear it and i play guitar.

  • Actually, it's a chord, and you're changing your story.

She did not screw up the solo; it was the one chord coming out of the solo.

  • by playing it incorrectly compared to how you wrote it maybe?

  • Love that!

I always think VS is the girls version of Nirvana

but Nina looked too skinny in this video

  • babes in toyland were the female equivalent of nirvana.

  • Wrong.

  • I miss these dearies. If only there was still some sort of riotgrrl scene. it just all went lame with britney and j-lo. i believe they were manufactured for the destruction of good girl bands such as veruca. down with the machine.

  • A cross between punk and EMO music?

  • emo music? omfg.. this is pure grunge

  • Well, if you say so...

  • yes, really love the grunge sound in the 90s

  • WhinestonCryhill was never intelligent.

  • HAHA! I love the end! I have this on vhs and the quality is dire, thanks for putting it up! :D

  • i love this song because i discovered it late in tv

  • yeahhhhhhh!!!

    veruca salt i love you

  • this is a 120minutes featuring live on mtv !!!

  • Looks like she gets nervous a lot....:p

  • nina said she threw up right before this because she was so nervous.

  • thanks

  • the best song of the 90's!!!!
