I've seen all the ZZ eps and Unicorn ep 3 too, and I knew about Ple clones. BUT I just don't think there was any specific confirmation that described exactly how many clones were produced.

there is difinitly a difference between gundam fans. I guess i would be a 2nd gen fan cause I started with wing,G, Seed, destiny, and 00 (liked them all). I later tried gundam (it was ok) then Zeta (omg I was bored but i finished it). I tried to start ZZ (got to ep 5 and just stop cause i was so bored). All the UC side story were great though (0083,0080,MS 08th). I just didnt see zeta that great. I hate bratty pilots so kamille i just hated (heero and setsuna r my favs).
@mylegs123 Z is slower and less complicated than Wing yeah, except for a few parts like the whole plot after the meeting of Char and Amuro, that wasnt exciting enough? haha. Mostly though I think it has a different appeal that's more the drama and chaos of the characters. The rivalries and personal struggles are more intense to me than the later ones, and the newtype metaphor is strong. but then again I watched Zeta when i was 22 i think, different state of mind. ZZ has some good parts later
my biggest complain about this is also my most trivial. (becuase despite my dislike of the use of Digital art rather than Cells and Dislike of CG in anime.. it is still really good.) I
I remember Space being blue not black in the two Zeta shows.
The first time I saw Chars Counter attack, I noted that that Pilots operating a mobile suits in space had brightened the Black empty space with Blue to help see objects in the darkness, and also to give the pilot more depth, maybe perhaps? However in the world of animation, perhaps it just looks more intense when the vast outer space is just painted colourfully. I agree with you though...
LOVED: the amazing Character designs. It was very "Yoshikazu Yasuhiko". The whole style of it. I would support and buy a whole remake of Universal Century if they did it looking like this
HATED: The robot designs. Look, I know it looks cool. But when Gundam starts looking as boxey as Ju Ranger Robot, I start to get unimpressed. For ZZ I found it too overfilling.

(I haven't had a Gundam show I like since turn A was finished and they quit using cells to animate... when they do digital animation teh designs get too detailed and it looks messy, plus I'm used to the stretching proportions (I.E. when a mobile suit make a drastic move such as boosting or Blocking.ect the proportions would stretch in the direction of movement.)
Billy, I think we are on the same page. I went and double checked the OO Suits (yuck). When I see that, It makes me hate G-Wing even more, since it seemed to start the whole "Alt" Gundam universe. I do agree, I did happen to love Turn A. That was the last Gundam I actually watched. I just wish I could shake my cynicism every time I see a show with more that one two gundams. At least 0080 had a point with two.

(the funny thing is that all three of those are fun to watch and though not as good as the UC shows they don't seem to insult longtime fans. Seed is the "Gundam for non Gundam fans" series where they dumb down the politics and use a shitty moe art style. 00 just took that and made it even worse with bad CG animations on top.)
@BillyCauseyjr haha i totally agree with your summary. 00 is power rangers with fake parody of modern politics to me. So many episodes are spent with them friggin standing around gathering the courage to keep going as a team, running away with the ship, visiting children with the ship... If Setsuna had any balls he would ditch his crew of wimps like Heero. Maybe I skipped too many episodes but I never found one that I liked. The guy Setsuna saves at the space mine stays a wimp the entire series!
@tyrannicoystercult evidentally you skipped more than u thought. 00 is my favorite gundam series. the battles are realistic in the way that real characters die every few episodes and there are more battles than you think. the gundams in 00 are so much cooler than any series ive seen and they each have there own purpose. gundam 00 is like gundam for adults. many people like gundam seed but ive seen about 6 episodes and as with most gundam shows it has generic looking gundams with pussy chracters

I watched about 10 episodes total of the 00 seasons and all i saw was fluff pep talks, lab scenes, flashy fights, color-coded power rangers, and a light beer version of palastine.. the grit and bit of psychology was okay, maybe i'll watch more. maybe i have to see more of the introductions, same as with Char's full intro within first 15 eps of zeta. do you have episode recommendations?
@tyrannicoystercult well episode 24 of season 1 is one of the most action packed. i will admit im almost done with season 2 and its not as good as season 1. alot more romance and relationship bullshit, but the battles are still good. season 2 also got rid of hallelujah which was one of my favorite characters. i know there is alot of politics and talking but there is ussually a fight an episode and what gundam series doesnt have alot of politics and side storys? gundam wing had more than this.
@tyrannicoystercult also i dont understand your power rangers comment. most gundam series have different color outfits for different pilots it helps the viewer tell them apart immediately especially during a battle with ten or so characters which tends to happen in this show. i thought the first half of season 1 was best but idk what episodes uve seen so far. if you get TOO bored then skip until you see gundams. ive done that before.

After reading your replies below, I think you haven't watched enough gundams to really start to appreciate the series. From what I understand, it seems you only watched those series that has been aired in north america with english translation but missed a lot of the good ones that only has subtitles. I would recommand you to give the original gundam UC rx78 series a try, then try 08MS team, 0080, 0083, and F91. They all have very good story. Avoid G Gundam cause it sucks :P

Cool. Hadn't heard of Unicorn being released. But yeah, Turn A is coming out at some point, but, as you said, it seems Bandai is finally figuring it out. Most likely too late to save the company.

But the fansubbers were part of the reason of Geneon's fall. I mean, they were at their height when it came to releases when they died--Hellsing Ultimate, Gankutsuou, and Tenjho Tenge.

@YoshiJoshWKJD there are also peddles and other buttons in the cock pit they just dont always show them when they use them theres like buttons on the side were the joysticks are and on the mini screen
1 joy stick alone would satisfy the bulk of the mobile suit's movements, the peddles can adjust the thrust, complex movements comes from the touch screen, 2nd joy stick used for locking onto targets after acquiring them and there is more than enough buttons to fire weapons with
not to mention a computer system that assists with piloting (which is quite advanced)
@kevinlei92 I understand you there. Here's an interesting note: All of the 2nd and 3rd generation Gundams in Gundam Wing had dual joystick interfaces. Then you go back to the sole 1st generation Gundam, Wing Zero, using the traditional cockpit.
u know these days the gundams are like ninja bots and their movements are way too human like. remember back then when their arms can bend in awkward angels to perform slashes? or when a newbie gets into the cockpit he fucks up and ends up doing something stupid with the machine
@kevinlei92 Well If a Mobile Suite operate similar to a VOTOM, then most of the maneuvers are programed into the machine's computer. The Pilot simply activates them. Now following that logic, Two Joy Sticks and a pair of foot peddles relay would enough to control the Suit. And then there's Psycho-Frame.
well any complicated maneuvers like picking up a rifle is probably auto, punching is probably manual because punching is just dumb and damages your suit's frame works, and.. in the event of necessity, there's always the keyboard, hooray.
I have actually, and the one I've driven had about 4 or 5 different levers for the forks, but I'm sure there are different kinds...
Anyway what I mean is it's funny how the pilot can control ALL the intricate little movements that the MS does including limb/body movement, thrusters and so on with just 2 joysticks and (possibly) foot pedals.

Well, from the ending of ZZ, watching the final episode, two of the Puru clones survived the final battle. The first, if you know about Unicorn, was taken in by The Sleeved and rechristened Marida Cruz after a rather...unsavory life beforehand. This may be her in the future, or it could be the second clone. Some have even postulated, due to the flightsuit being the original Puru Two's, that it's...well, the original her. Doubtful, though.

@mylegs123 Z is slower and less complicated than Wing yeah, except for a few parts like the whole plot after the meeting of Char and Amuro, that wasnt exciting enough? haha. Mostly though I think it has a different appeal that's more the drama and chaos of the characters. The rivalries and personal struggles are more intense to me than the later ones, and the newtype metaphor is strong. but then again I watched Zeta when i was 22 i think, different state of mind. ZZ has some good parts later

The first time I saw Chars Counter attack, I noted that that Pilots operating a mobile suits in space had brightened the Black empty space with Blue to help see objects in the darkness, and also to give the pilot more depth, maybe perhaps? However in the world of animation, perhaps it just looks more intense when the vast outer space is just painted colourfully. I agree with you though...

LOVED: the amazing Character designs. It was very "Yoshikazu Yasuhiko". The whole style of it. I would support and buy a whole remake of Universal Century if they did it looking like this
HATED: The robot designs. Look, I know it looks cool. But when Gundam starts looking as boxey as Ju Ranger Robot, I start to get unimpressed. For ZZ I found it too overfilling.

@Spacirelei have you seen the designs for Gundam 00? they don't looks like mobile suits they look like Super Sentai mechs..... Bah.
(I haven't had a Gundam show I like since turn A was finished and they quit using cells to animate... when they do digital animation teh designs get too detailed and it looks messy, plus I'm used to the stretching proportions (I.E. when a mobile suit make a drastic move such as boosting or Blocking.ect the proportions would stretch in the direction of movement.)

Billy, I think we are on the same page. I went and double checked the OO Suits (yuck). When I see that, It makes me hate G-Wing even more, since it seemed to start the whole "Alt" Gundam universe. I do agree, I did happen to love Turn A. That was the last Gundam I actually watched. I just wish I could shake my cynicism every time I see a show with more that one two gundams. At least 0080 had a point with two.

@Spacirelei actually G gundam was the first alt' universe followed by Gundam X then Wing.
(the funny thing is that all three of those are fun to watch and though not as good as the UC shows they don't seem to insult longtime fans. Seed is the "Gundam for non Gundam fans" series where they dumb down the politics and use a shitty moe art style. 00 just took that and made it even worse with bad CG animations on top.)

@BillyCauseyjr haha i totally agree with your summary. 00 is power rangers with fake parody of modern politics to me. So many episodes are spent with them friggin standing around gathering the courage to keep going as a team, running away with the ship, visiting children with the ship... If Setsuna had any balls he would ditch his crew of wimps like Heero. Maybe I skipped too many episodes but I never found one that I liked. The guy Setsuna saves at the space mine stays a wimp the entire series!

@tyrannicoystercult evidentally you skipped more than u thought. 00 is my favorite gundam series. the battles are realistic in the way that real characters die every few episodes and there are more battles than you think. the gundams in 00 are so much cooler than any series ive seen and they each have there own purpose. gundam 00 is like gundam for adults. many people like gundam seed but ive seen about 6 episodes and as with most gundam shows it has generic looking gundams with pussy chracters

I watched about 10 episodes total of the 00 seasons and all i saw was fluff pep talks, lab scenes, flashy fights, color-coded power rangers, and a light beer version of palastine.. the grit and bit of psychology was okay, maybe i'll watch more. maybe i have to see more of the introductions, same as with Char's full intro within first 15 eps of zeta. do you have episode recommendations?

@tyrannicoystercult well episode 24 of season 1 is one of the most action packed. i will admit im almost done with season 2 and its not as good as season 1. alot more romance and relationship bullshit, but the battles are still good. season 2 also got rid of hallelujah which was one of my favorite characters. i know there is alot of politics and talking but there is ussually a fight an episode and what gundam series doesnt have alot of politics and side storys? gundam wing had more than this.

@tyrannicoystercult also i dont understand your power rangers comment. most gundam series have different color outfits for different pilots it helps the viewer tell them apart immediately especially during a battle with ten or so characters which tends to happen in this show. i thought the first half of season 1 was best but idk what episodes uve seen so far. if you get TOO bored then skip until you see gundams. ive done that before.

@devilhacker86 it is more adult-like than others ive seen. it has more to do with politics and war than most gundam shows. after watching gundam wing through again, ive gone back to realising it is the best gundam show out there. but i still like gundam 00 second best then its 08th ms team. ive only seen the gundam shows that have been english dubbed, but i know that shows like mobile suit gundam are overrated.

@devilhacker86 there was mobile suit gundam, 08th ms team, gundam wing, and G gundam. and its hard to find a gundam show (besides the ones i just mentioned) that have been translated to english, thats one of the reasons i havent watched unicorn yet. i dont like reading subtitles because i miss alot of the action while reading.

After reading your replies below, I think you haven't watched enough gundams to really start to appreciate the series. From what I understand, it seems you only watched those series that has been aired in north america with english translation but missed a lot of the good ones that only has subtitles. I would recommand you to give the original gundam UC rx78 series a try, then try 08MS team, 0080, 0083, and F91. They all have very good story. Avoid G Gundam cause it sucks :P

Every Gundam that has been released in America/U.K. has been dubbed in English. Every. Single. One.
Gundam X, ZZ Gundam, V Gundam, Turn A Gundam, and Gundam Unicorn have not yet been released in the West.

Bandai, like many company's that license and release Anime, are starting to figure out that spending a fortune on the rights, pressing, and packaging of an Anime is expensive enough... Which companies are those? Remember Geneon? They were uber popular with the fans. They licensed niche titles, got expensive ADR teams to Dub em, put out tons of limited editions and collectibles.
They went belly up. Shows like Habane Renmi are going to appeal to such an ultra minority that a profit is going to be very elusive.
Funni is wealthy. UBER wealthy. If they were not, they wouldn't have the same practices.

1 joy stick alone would satisfy the bulk of the mobile suit's movements, the peddles can adjust the thrust, complex movements comes from the touch screen, 2nd joy stick used for locking onto targets after acquiring them and there is more than enough buttons to fire weapons with
not to mention a computer system that assists with piloting (which is quite advanced)

@kevinlei92 Well If a Mobile Suite operate similar to a VOTOM, then most of the maneuvers are programed into the machine's computer. The Pilot simply activates them. Now following that logic, Two Joy Sticks and a pair of foot peddles relay would enough to control the Suit. And then there's Psycho-Frame.

well any complicated maneuvers like picking up a rifle is probably auto, punching is probably manual because punching is just dumb and damages your suit's frame works, and.. in the event of necessity, there's always the keyboard, hooray.

I have actually, and the one I've driven had about 4 or 5 different levers for the forks, but I'm sure there are different kinds...
Anyway what I mean is it's funny how the pilot can control ALL the intricate little movements that the MS does including limb/body movement, thrusters and so on with just 2 joysticks and (possibly) foot pedals.
But there is an easy answer that solves all this, ITS A CARTOON.

I was just looking through my MS Encylcopedia 2009 book, and I saw the pilot name under the Evolve Qubeley, it was Mineva Zabi's name.

Well, from the ending of ZZ, watching the final episode, two of the Puru clones survived the final battle. The first, if you know about Unicorn, was taken in by The Sleeved and rechristened Marida Cruz after a rather...unsavory life beforehand. This may be her in the future, or it could be the second clone. Some have even postulated, due to the flightsuit being the original Puru Two's, that it's...well, the original her. Doubtful, though.
