@MustacheCashStash0 I'm not really sure. I wish I had a better answer but I've never used a blow dryer. This is actually the only time I've ever done any crayon melting. I'll have to experiment more and let you know.

would a blow dryer work too? i know it would probably have a different effect, but what it you wanted to make a shape or a silote of something, would a blow dryer or an iron be better to keep the shape?

@midnightmoon15 Honestly, i'm not sure what different types of canvas there are. I bought it at Hobby Lobby. All i know is it's the kind that is stretched across a wooden frame. I doubt it would matter for this project though. Hope this helped!

@Fearlessberry Wax paper, I believe. I have done a similar project with kids melting crayon shavings between just wax paper to make "stained glass" ornaments. It turns out really cute too :)

It's canvas. You can probably use anything that won't melt under the heat of the iron though =]
