  • Polish warriors had kicked the vikings out of Europe before chrystianity came. Sława słowianom.

  • THE VIKINGS SUFACE TO WAR AGAINST ALL OPPOSING FORCE! HEAD TO SHIP AND WAY UPON OVERTURE COMBATANT FORCE!!!!

  • I stand on Bifröst and I see that Asgard and Midagrad are doing well - I am Heimsdall I watch the gods and I approve of this song.....

  • seriously, what does religion have to do with therion's music? Singing about norse mythology doesn't make them believers of odin, as holy martyr aren't followers of the greek pantheon.

  • I don't give a fuck about what religion Therion are. I listen to their music, nothing more.

  • wahoo io no soe d este genero pero

therion es muy buena banda ycreo q todo su

cancinoes tiene algo nuevo y muy diferente....................

  • I'm in love with Therion <3<3<3<3

  • One of the worst effects of Christianization was the demise of tribal democracy (in Nordic countries they had "thingi", in Slavic we had

"wiec", both were a type of assembly of all free men, owners of households; women were also allowed to vote in the name of a household) and the onslaught of feudalism, which was a very unjust and wrong system, and one of the main reasons behind poverty of the late Medieval

    times.

  • I love Therion from the first sight. Satanic or not, I don't care. As a polytheist, I have the same respect towards Satanists that I do have for Christians or Jews. Polytheism allows for tolerance towards other Deities and spirits, and I consider Yahveh as one of many Gods or spirits, not a "supreme" one. The same for Lucipher. I do respect IHWH and Lucipher in the same way do respect Re or Quetzalcoatl, however none of them is my personal God, as I do follow Slavic Gods. Glory to the Old Gods!

  • It seems like any band that comes out of Sweden is just incredible. lol

  • Why all the comments on if they're satanic or not. They are from Sweden singing about Norse mythology, I don't see how any Judeo-christian ideas fit in the first place.

  • RAGNAROK

  • That little gray allien would love this. :)

  • polska inwazja?

  • the solo at the end is...eargasmic

  • chórki rewelacja

  • love the bass !

  • Heeyyyy can u help me :D

    tabb ?????? chordss?????? help Soloooooo

  • best solo ever!!!!!!

  • too bad that therion is satanists, or paganistic but in dark sinister (evil) way :-/

  • @nefredil come to the dark side, we have cookies >:3

  • @nefredil

Therion isn't a Satanic band.... Satanism is a religion and Therion does not believe in religion.

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 Of course Satanism is not a religion and of course Therion is not a satanic band.

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 They're not Satanic exactly, but they are associated with the Dragon Rouge Order, a Left-Hand Path or Draconian Tradition Order. Thomas Karlsson, the founder and head of the organization, has written almost all their lyrics since 1996. I don't know if the band members are members, but either way, Satanic or not, Therion is still a fantastic group.

  • @soittotaiteilija

I know very well who the Dragon Rouge are, and that Therion are closely affiliated with them. Beyond T. Karlsson writing the lyrics, Chris Johnsson is a high-ranking member of them.

And Left-hand Path/=/Satanism, though the terms are most often thought of as being the same thing, but its not true.

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 -- read the lyrics. they're all about religion.

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 tell yourself what you wish but their music IS satanic

  • @TheBladeEdge

Screw you!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a song based on Norse mythology. Their songs are based on several mythologies, but none of them say "hail Satan" or anything like that.

  • @Super911truth read the rest of the discussion. listen to their other songs. most of them like morning star and raven of dispersion are satanic. not to mention the draconian trilogy.

  • @TheBladeEdge

    >Thinking everyone who's not christian is a satanist

    >2012

    |Christians...|

To be fair you've not completly missunderstood it all. The songwriter is one of the founders of Dragons Rouge who's striving for the way of the left hand which opposes the Christian ideal and is according to Christians Satanic. BUT satanism is a religion and not "black magic" in overall even though most people think so.

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 That's why they made an album about Norse religion?

  • @lisandro22 They also made a song about Swedenborg, who was a Christian, as well as about Cthulhu, Quetzalcoatl, Kingu, and so on... interest in a religion's mythology doesn't involve belief in said religion, nor approval of their philosophical idiosincracy.

  • @nefredil Just because something is pagan it isn't evil. They base their songs on Norse Paganism which is in no way related to satanism. Go read a book

  • @TheDigitalArsonist I agree with that, i'm from Guatemala and the people who lived here before the spanish invasion, they had their own gods. And from the christian point of view, this could be seen also like paganism. And it wasn't evil at all, but for the spanish invaders it was.

Anyway... Long Live To THERION! and pagan believes!

  • @TheDigitalArsonist aha, right, and please tell me that the songs like Deggial, the Rise of Sodom and Gomorrah, (you noticed, the RISE?, if you don't know what is Sodom and Gomorrah, then read the book), then the lyrics in the song Birth of Venus Illegitima, Eye of Shiva (a god destroyer, just to remind you), Black Sun, Mark of Cain (you know about Cain right?), Invocation of Naamah (which is a demon), Nightside of Eden? and plenty more! plus Therion is derived from ancient greek, meaning Beast

  • @TheDigitalArsonist please tell me that the songs i mentioned are pure paganism like "okay we believe in multitude of gods, god of rain, ligthning, sea, earth etc, and we don't want to interfere with other religions like Christian" , why i mentioned only christian religion, because i didn't saw a single song of therion to refer in negative manner about islam, or budaism...! some of their songs are in negative manner towards christian! but don't get me wrong, i like Therion, and i respect them!

  • @nefredil Keep in mind that most of Therion's songs are written by Thomas Karlsson, who is a leader of a left hand path occult order, so there are going to be some Luciferian (which is not the same as Satanism) themes throughout. Regardless, one of the reasons I love Therion is that they pay homage to many different spiritual traditions from around the world, including esoteric Christianity.

  • @armedmage It is true that luciferianism can technically be distinguished from cliched satanism, but the source is ultimately the same. Mankind has a tendency to seek the great mysteries, hence why occultism (hidden knowledge) has always been a part of many cultures. The writings H.P Blavatsky, Albert Pike, and Manly P. Hall exemplify what the "great mysteries" are and their use: To cloud ones mind in darkness and hide from the truth. This is not an intellectual issue, but a moral one

  • Comment removed

  • @zidanemaxout I don't agree with that. You may not agree with the teachings of Blavatsky, Pike, or Hall but that doesn't mean they were intentionally trying to mislead people. It's just difference of belief.

  • @armedmage You are correct, but Blavatsky and Co. were deceived into thinking Lucifer (aka Prometheus) provided the "spark" of imagination to mankind, hence freeing us from a "tyrannical" creator's authority. This philosophy falls apart since if Adonai is corrupt, so must be Lucifer (since he is a creation of God), therefore all of mankinds merits and aspirations are corrupt. A corrupt God cannot sustain the whole universe and keep it from utter chaos, which the biblical God does.

  • @zidanemaxout According to antinomian gnostics the demiurge or "creator" god described in the bible is not the highest deity, but simply the one that crafted or overlords the material universe. In this context Lucifer could be a force that exists before or outside of the demiurge or one created by the demiurge that through his free will attained this higher power to become free of the demiurge's control. I don't have room to explain it all here, look up the Gnostic interpretations of Genesis.

  • @zidanemaxout first of all, I do not consider Yehovah a creator of whole Universe. I know this is a message of The Bible, but I don't believe in it. For me, IHWH is only a Deity, of the same kind as many others. He's a national deity of the JEwish people, and as I do have much respect the Jews, I do respect Him as their spiritual leader, to. Nevertheless, as I am a Slavic Pagan (Rodnover) myself, Slavic Gods and Goddesses

are more important to me than IHWH.

  • @zidanemaxout haha, Christians are now trying to convert metalheads. Futile work, sir (or madame), leave us alone. And there are many sources of good and truth, each culture has its own source. As a someone attached to the Slavic culture and identity, I do follow Slavic Deities, but if you want, you may follow your Christian spiritual leader, too. There's nothing wrong in following Jesus, but neither there is anything wrong in

following other Gods. With a Heathen greeting!

  • @nefredil I know a lot of songs by Therion and I don't see anything offensive towards Christianity here. They are praising the "other side", ie. spirits considered demons by Christians and Jews, eg. Azazel, Deggial, Lucifer, etc. There's nothing "negative" in it, except for the obvious negativeness of selecting the other side. However, if you like Liverpool, and other one prefers

Manchester United, does it mean that he/she is "negative" towards Liverpool?

  • amazing!!

  • i envy you scandinavians that you managed to keep so much of your mythology and traditions and didn't fully give in to those christian... ehm, priests back then :)

  • @tomik524

Err... they *did* fully 'give in' to Christianity ('convert' is a more accurate word). The only reason we have any record of Norse mythology today is because Christian monks in Iceland wrote down the old myths and legends in manuscripts, as the Norse peoples had an oral tradition and did not write down their stories and folk tales.

  • @authentictikitang well yes, but weren't they "a bit problematic" to convert? i think the celts and the slavs were much more easily christianized than vikings and i'm a slav myself. we let our mythology go, basically noone here in the czech republic really knows who was Perun or Svarog. they only know bit abour Radegast as there is a beer brand of the same name. please, correct me if i'm wrong again, i'd like to know the true story ;)

  • @tomik524 no, they were volunteers, different from slavish people like pomeranians and vends against whom there were crusades, where participated the volunteers from germans. Reason why this mythology is so popular is the romantic era that was stronger there AND that the people of these countries dared to dig out their roots, not being satisfiedwith only the greco-roman legacy. There would be no Therion without Wagner. And there are new generations who continue to bring such themes up:)

  • @vendsoin hmm, i see, thanks for your comment.

  • @vendsoin There were a lot of volunteers to Christianity among all peoples. However, others were forced, often by their own rulers For example, in Poland those who didn't participate in the mass were persecuted on the order of the first Polish king, Boleslaw Chrobry. In these times, if your ruler embraced a religion, you were assumed to

embrace it, too, or else face the penalty for disobedience.

  • @vendsoin And of course, temples in both Slavic and Norse world were destroyed, which is attested even in the Christian chronicles (Saxo Grammaticus, Thietmar, Adam from Bremen, Kosmas, Bede, etc.) Some time later there was a Pagan Reaction, which was a large-scale uprising against the new faith and the power of the Ruler and the Church. It included the destruction of the rulers' sites AND churches, too, which were massively burnt, the priests being killed.

  • @vendsoin Now I don't say Christianity is evil, as it is not. It contains a lot of good values that were successfully emulated by other cultures (eg. charity). However, Christianization *WAS* evil, and the incoming islamization may be even worse. Now we have religious freedom and we should protect and defend it, whether Pagans, Christians, Satanists, Buddhists, Hindu or anybody.

  • @tomik524 More and more people refers to the old beliefs now, at least in Poland. I am sure you will find a lot of people from Rodna Vira in Czech Republic, too. I am a Rodnover myself, and our community is growing. We're respectful and tolerant towards other religions, including Christianity. Some friends who are Christians do participate in our holidays, too, though they don't partake in the rites. Greetings!

  • @authentictikitang The danes did not just "give in" to christianity... Took 2 Viking Lords to convert the danish ppl. Gorm The old, and his son, Harald Bluetooth. What his father could not accomplish, Harald finished. Sad as that may be... And we did have writings of our legecy. Most of them was destroyed tho, by the christians, trying to erase our previous history and legacy, trying to have their god become the only true god.

  • @Reinsholm

Yes, I know they didn't just 'give in' - that's why I said 'convert' is a more accurate term.

I dispute your comments about Christians destroying previous literature. Where's your evidence for that? Christians destroyed 'most of them'? Does that mean some survived? Where are they now? The only literature we have about Scandinavian mythology is in the Eddas - written *by Christians* in an attempt to *preserve* Norse mythology, not erase it.

  • @authentictikitang hahahaha you pwned im :3

  • Every time I see a Scandinavian band do a song about Asgard, it always reminds me of the mythology of it. "In Norse mythology, Asgard (Old Norse: Ásgarðr; meaning "Enclosure of the Æsir") is one of the Nine Worlds and is the country or capital city of the Norse Gods surrounded by an incomplete wall attributed to a Hrimthurs riding the stallion Svadilfari, according to Gylfaginning. Valhalla is located within Asgard. Odin and his wife, Frigg are the rulers of Asgard." - from Wikipedia.

  • @johnzantey forgot to mention that it is now a real place situated in Troms, Norway, its geographical coordinates are 69° 39' 0" North, 18° 54' 0" East and its original name (with diacritics) is Åsgård :) :)
