  • GOD SAVE THE KINKS ray davies buffalo ny nov 13 hope to see you there

  • this song always make me dance but it's about WAR?!? i feel a little guilty

  • Mick really enjoyed recording this one! Some wild stuff here.

  • @babyshambler Kinks here buddy, not stones

  • @birch5757

Yeah. That'd be Mick Avory I'm talking about Birchy. 'Tis my video!

  • Churchill was a conservative, self serving, warmongering, snob.

  • @phil1958uk You show me someone who isn't.

I've never met anyone who isn't like that in my life.

  • @phil1958uk

I'd rather have somebody like that than the totalitarian dictator he helped take down.

  • @phil1958uk Churchill was warmonger for fighting HITLER? Please. Wait to talk til you have something meaningful to say....

  • @birch5757 People are idiots, there's no use in speaking to them friend.

  • @phil1958uk Lol. Yeah, sure.

  • The Kinks are very well respected and known ,...c'mon man ,..electronic dance crap sucks ,... LONG LIVE Kinks !

  • GOD SAVE THE KINKS!!!!!

  • kids need to listen to great artist like the kinks instead of techno and all the other meaningless music today. it drives me crazy when i show them this and they say it is okay or bad. poor saps don't know what they are missing.

  • @WalrusMan841 i listen to the kinks and proudly listen to electronic dance music as well. don't knock what you don't understand.

  • @mwells219

    I second that

  • @mwells219

I disagree. You yourself called it "dance music" all well and good but it is simply made for the purpose of "dance" this is different. The kinks' music if filled with thought.

  • i think the reason they didn't become as well known is that they refused (and also weren't given the chance) to fit into a box to appeal to america. i love the beatles, but the kinks were the real deal...

  • @fwzzybird I think it's more because they were banned from touring in America for so many years.

  • @fwzzybird I think they were banned from america

  • @fwzzybird

They were also banned from performing in the States for a few years in the sixties, which couldn't have helped.

  • I agree Dave Davies played the right thing at the right time for years with little or no accolades and playing the diversity of material the Kinks came up with must have been a full time job.

  • Dave Davies is a criminally underrated guitarist.

  • The kinks are not respected enough for how good they are

  • damn skippy they should be as well known as the beatles but there not sadly

  • I couldn't agree more! Theyhave alway been my favorite band from the sixties.

  • @guitarheroRP True, but think how blessed we are because we have recognized their greatness and the tons of enjoyment we get each time we listen to them. The lyrics and music has depth and never gets tiring, like other great groups. That's why the Kinks will live forever because they discovered a new branch of genius in the music they produced.

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, The Kinks

    (response)

    "God Save the Kinks"

  • One of the greatest albums of all time by The Greatest Bands of all time! God save the kinks and all their fans who have supported them from the 60's right through the current solo careers of Ray and Dave. They remain sekond to none, and will always be one of the greatest, most important and relevant bands of all time. I remain Dan the Fan aka Frank Lima, The Montvale, New Jersey Hillbilly Boy.

  • Arthur was a masterpiece and featured some of Dave Davies finest guitar work. The guitar solo on this song reminds me of a concert in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco back in the 60's. All in all the musicianship on this album was excellent.

  • It's a hard call, but I am strongly tempted to say that Arthur was The Kinks finest hour. Thanks!!!!

  • Absolute classic. As Pete Townsend said one time Ray Davies should be the "...new poet laureate..." when you consider these unique English experience lyrics. The 'Greatest Generation' who lived through these times were touched forever by these images. The first time I played this for my grandmother she was sadly really shaken by the sounds of the air raid sirens. It literally made her hair stand on end..a programmed traumatic natural response.

  • I bought it when I was 16 ! Now I`m 44.

Bought a lot of Records later !

It is still one of the best Ones I`ve ever heard.Nothing more to wrigt ! Sincerly !

  • This whole album is corking! Must get it. Ta.
