  • He wasnt the cleanest player....thats forsure.

  • @furbiscuit916 it's the audio. he actually was

  • amazing guitarist... it s sad that he left this world ... he was to young ! now he s rocking heaven!! R.I.P Randy !

  • It's quite amazing to see the young zakk wylde was actually copy cating all his stage moves and delevoped his very own gradually. Awesome video! Rip RR. Still the best.

  • my face exploded on the solo!

  • the 11 people that disliked this video are upset because they couldn't straight thrash the hell out of a six string, then turn around and fuck every chick in the bar. there i said it... get mad bitches. randy is THE ax man

  • Its not strange. Its spectacular. I will always love his music.

  • That's weird how I can here the drum intro at the beginning of Metal Health at the end of the song....

  • This is my first time seeing this!!!!!!! I'm so excited. This is the most inspiring thing i've seen in a loong time. Finding randy vids like THIS is soo rare. And wow... I'm blown away. This is incredible.. I'm in awe. Randy Rhoads is THE best. That's not my opinion. That's just the truth. And NOO other guitarist I've seen has gone clean and played CLASSICAL in their live guitar solo. That is so beautiful and amazing.

  • Quiet Riot SUCKED. They only had ONE good song (and that was "Bang Your Head")...

  • at 7:20 theres a hit of crazy train

  • @stephenfarmer wow good ear!

  • the solo resembles suicide solution

  • randy was alot better wit ozzy but he looks alot more energenic in quiet riot coz he moves around the stage more

  • Shit man this is Pretty Damn Good Quality,Considering Kevin DuBrow Lent his MASTER tapes to VH1 when they Did the Behind the Music & Never got them returned!!VH1 Claimed they Couldnt find them???WTF Right??So Theese that surfaced are Thankfully Most of what was Missing. That was in like 200 2001,then He died in 08 & that was that.Ozzy supposed ly has TWO PRO-SHOT Shows w/Randy that are to be released with the Blizzard & Diary 30th anivrs editions in Fall 2010 E Theyre now Delayed until 2011

  • This band used to gig at the sunset strip in LA, from back then, people knew, there was a guitar GOD and his name was randy rhoads

  • lookin at this performance,i realize how good randy rhoads guitar playing went wit kevin dubrow's vocals.but after randy went to ozzy, quiet riot were looked at as just another glam metal band.

R.I.P Randy & Kevin, one of metals most underrated duos \m/

  • he was much better than carlos cavazo, Rest In Peace Randy the king!!

  • 6:25 ... is randy playing a bit of dee ?

  • @TheJarppidudeson y yes it is and right b4 it just a touch of goodbye to romance

  • And as far as the Jimmy Page, Randy thing. Jimmy is/was one of the sloppiest players you will ever hear live. Randy was technically as good as it got, live or studio. But, I love Jimmy Page too.

  • RIP Randy and Kevin. I actually like Kevin's vocals alot. Seems to have gotten lost in the glam metal graveyard (no pun intended). However, Randy was something else altogether. A sound that Zakk couild never achieve....

  • He's only 21 here. Fuck.

  • cazzo che roba

  • randy is dressed like sylvain sylvain of the new york dolls 1973

  • 3:57-4:12 is amazing. sounds like hes tapping

  • its amazing how his appearance changed from his quiet riot days to his ozzy days

  • This is a special treat. Listen carefully to time lapse 6:22-6:58, and, you will hear the premature development of Randy's classical composition "Dee", which, he later recorded with the Prince of Bloody Fucking Darkness...Ozzy.

  • Yes, but till 6:58 he also plays the riff for the goodbuy to romance i think.

  • Original and boring? It's just a show solo, appreciate art.

  • Randy's playing was and still is so awesome to me, 28 years later and still crankin it!!

  • No, that's just a very commonly used rock riff. Just like the "Two Minutes to Midnight" intro is a very often used metal riff.

Come on, in either case, Rhoads blows Page out of the water

  • I wasn't comparing Jimmy Page to Randy Rhoades guitar abilities. But having said that this song blows.

  • lol I was thinkin the same thing bout Led zepp man, you're right, but you can't say they ripped em off. Randy is a genius guitar player, so if that Led zep song never came out, and still guarentee he'd be playing it in this vid

  • I saw Quiet Riot in 2006. Kevin sounded great, and I had always loved the band. But I really wish I could have seen Randy with them too. I'm glad though I got to see Kevin. He was so awesome. :)

  • For all the Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads comparisons...

    As EVH said himself:

Eddie Van Halen = Heavy Rock And Roll

    Randy Rhoads = Heavy Metal

Randy Rhoads is infinatly better than Eddie in any way possible to man [=

    RIP

  • And Some of The Solo For Suicide Solution From Tribute

  • Its Like A Combination Of Dee With the riff of Crazy Train Plus A Hell of A LOt Good soloing

  • lol i bet ozzy went though this tape and stole the riffs lol ozzy and randy were the best combination in history right before axl and slash

  • he still is the best

  • i agree w priest copy lol..which metal band hasnt? :P

  • at 6:36 it sounds like the intro to "goodbye to romance"

  • yeah, it's like a mix of goodbye to romance and a little bit of dee

  • anyone know how to make the sound he makes at 2:24 -2:28?

idk if its harmonics or something like that help me plz

  • Yes that's what it is. But to reproduce it you would need to do a research of what equip he was using. Even strings can make a little difference. Sounds freakin awesome.

  • yesterday i was dicking around with my guitar and i found out its not hermonics its the delay that he is using .

the notes that are delayed that are being played under his notes make it sound like that way

  • That's cool I would have sworn it was harmonics. Sounds pretty friggin awesome. No doubt.

  • yea i thought so too

    randy rhoads is god

  • 3:02 - 3:06 Sends chills down my spine everyime I hear that.

  • Quiet Riot were quite good... but the performance at live was not always good o.O! it's a shame :(

  • Damn it's a zombie band! asuhdaushdu...black humor comment

  • is this at the whiskey?

  • hilarious - it all sux, except for RR rocking out

  • Wow, listen to that fast smooth descending part of the phrase at 3:39. Amazing technique and control.

  • what is the quiet riot song where randy rhoads does part of the you looken at me looken at you solo

  • That would be Breaking Up is a Heartache.

  • thank u

  • You Looking At Me, Looking At You was actually inspired by ''Kiss of Death'', wich has almost the same parts of the song. It's been played at some of the QR's shows, but not many, in my collection.

  • @standaman1ooo Is that a question? What is looken ?

  • You can hear the start of "Goodbye To Romance" at the end of the solo...

  • Does anybody hear echoes of "Brighton Rock"?

  • A bit... Very few actually know that song...

  • I was at ALL of these shows at the Starwood. The videos only tell half the story of the power of this great band.

  • I have this show on dvd.. The audio is way better than this....

  • Randy Rhoads is the SHIt

  • favorite guitarist ever.

    RIP Randy Rhoads

  • I wish this was in better quality :(

  • @oldgunsnroses4eva I like it in this quality because it's the sound you here when you're at the concert and the music is so loud that it makes your head shake... Makes it feel like you're there...

  • Thank you for posting this! Such a loss. :( It would've been awseome to see him on the G3 Tour with Vai and Satch

  • its kind of hard 2 belive quiet riot is in a weird way connected with ozzy ozbourne. randy played with both, but ozzy and quiet riot are from different styles of metal. and yet are connected by randy. strange when you actually think about it.

    R.I.P. Randy Rhoads

  • HEY, Cat I don't know if you noticed but,, all-most all of OZZY's (blizzard of ozz) are quiet riot songs (guitar-riffs) & (solo's) ,, Randy did !! OZZY (drunk), just wrote some lyrics !!

  • @guitardude012345 Well, most of the songs in Ozzy from Blizzard of Ozz, and Diary of a Madman had similar riffs of those in Quiet Riot... Randy just made them 20x better in Osbourne. Here are a few

Laughing Gas Solo (Chorus Pedal on)- Dee & Goodbye to Romance

Solo to Breaking up is a Heartache- Became first part of the Solo to You Lookin at Me Lookin at You

Force of Habit main rhythm- Suicide Solution

Second part of Laughing Gas solo (a.k.a the fast part)- Suicide Solution Spotlight Solo

  • RANDY FUCKIN RHOADS!!!

  • randyrhoadsforever

  • he is my GOD

  • was he playing what would become part of the "goodbye to romance" solo?

  • He played parts from Dee and Goodbye to Romance!

  • seems so at 6:35 .

  • From 3:58 to 4:20 it sounds like classical music on a guitar kind of like eddie van halen's eruption

  • nahhh xD the facts this gig is from 77 a year before athe erucction of van halen XD u cant compare randy with eddie cuz randy is better than van halen eddie is overrated xD

  • Van Halen is overrated only because he brought tapping into the light

  • yeah i'm with u man!!

  • No. This gig was in September 22, 1979. I have it on DVD. But I do agree Eddie is overrated.

  • what is the dvd called? cause i would love to have this

  • It's just Quiet Riot. You can find it on torrent sites.

  • Do you guys remember that killer Burrito place down the street form the Starwood?

  • Hey Los Angelino's! Do you remember a band that always used to play with Quiet Riot. They were called Eulogy. I thought they kicked ass. They had cool songs, "Love is a Coma," "I Don't Wanna Let Go," "Lost on the Freeway." They ripped!

  • randy was awsome... was he better with ozzy or quiet riot? ( opinion question)

  • ozzy but then again more songs and footage of him wit ozzy.

  • rhoads was better with ozzy. but his solo on this song is pretty kickass. r.i.p.

  • omg!!! lol at 4:22 :D

  • i guess kevin dubrow got some lessons b4 randy left da group :(

  • yes, randy rhoads was the best

  • Quiet Riot was at its best when Rhoads was with them. RIP.

  • tuertodsc

    its the lone ranger

  • Thank you very much!!!

  • Beautiful! God bless you for sharing! If you have any more, please post them.

  • Can someone tell me the name of the song that start at 4:22 and finish at 4:27 ?

Randy you were an excelent guitar player !!!

  • It's called Laughing Gas

  • some of this sounds similar to his solo from 'suicide solution' on tribute

  • Suicide Solution, Goodbye to Romance, Dee, etc.

  • this shoyld have as many views as that canon rock video, hell all randy rhoads stuff should

  • He made a sweep at 3:06. Nice Randy!

  • Randy Rhoads is, was and still is 1 of the best guitar players ever. He never missed a lick, and had so much knowledge, comfort, and control of a guitar it was sick.

  • Wow you're a maniac. If you can't see that this guy has talent as few, know how to play the guitar as few and is just one of the best in the world then you shouldn't talk music with anyone. Rhoads is the best guitarist by far. You should here his solo's on Crazy Train, Killer Girls, Last call for rock 'n roll, Iron Man, Goodbye to Romance etc. you'll change you mind trust me. Both Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne songs.

  • great coment but randy isnt the guitarist in iron man. iron man is black sabath so toni iommi is the guitarist. and the only quiet riot songs he's in is before 1982.

  • Well all those songs have Rhoads on guitar except for the original Iron Man. I wrote that song cos it's got a great guitar bit in it and I have heard that Ozzy Osbourne did it once with his solo career line-up too. Yeah I know I'm a huge fan of Quiet Riot and of Rhoads Rhoads is the best guitarist by far even though there are many not far away. I mena I know every single fact about him more or less and I'm just so depressed when it comes to me knowing he's dead

    Love peace and udnerstanding

  • yea i love randy too i think hes probably the best guitar player yet also. hes definatly my favorite, him and dave mustaine. i actually have the RR3 (one of his signature guitars) im playing in on my cover of devour.

  • the best ever definately the best

  • Had he lived to this day... holy fuck, I can't even imagine what his music could be like.

  • The only thing that I hate about this video is that it doesn't get enough views. Its Randy Rhoads people.

  • I just found this video, but your damn right. Needs more views.

  • yea more people need to watch this instead of guitar hero videos

  • Fast, accurate, melodic.... just PERFECT! :-)

  • =DDD !!! Randy Rhoads! .. x3 !!! We will makes BABIES! :3 Zombie-babies. <3

    Only topped by two.

    And only barely.

    <333

  • they should make randys birthday into a fucking holiday!, same with kevin

  • YESSSS!!!!

  • Hell yeah!

  • FUCK YA

  • I like the music, obviously, but the poor sound quality is really bothering me.

  • Randy Rhoads is number one he's the the guitar genius and the six string god. Don't come and say that Hendrix(or who ever) is better. Respect that I and many other think thats Rhoads is the best. Respect our thoughts and we'll respect yours I promise.

  • BRAD GILLIS: NUFF SAID!

  • Awesome man! ... chek out some of the vids of me playin geetar! lol... and maybe subscribe if ya want

  • Kevin and Randy once agian can rock out togather. Rest in peace Rock gods

  • Weird outfit. His playing is awsome though.

  • RIP kevin and randy.....

  • Hopefully Kevin and Randy are enjoying a hell of a jam session up there right now. RIP

  • Haha kind of funny imagening two of the greatest rock legends ever with their angel wings jamming together as hell(oops wrong word when you're in heaven). Kind of funny thumbs up for you.

  • R.I.P Randy and Kevin

  • yeah if any retard wanted ur shit opinions they wood have fucking asked

  • You queers need to stop comparing them.... Your opinions dont mean shit.

  • never another.....

  • RIP Randy. Your music will never be forgotten.

  • crazy train @ 7:20

  • lol at 4:22 theres a familiar sound, check it out

  • Someone told me RR played for QR but I didn't believe him. Thanks for the post.

  • They guitar technique is great, but they needed better amps.

  • used to have a QR early years cd on Rhino records until it was lost. Glad this was on here I hadn't heard this in so long

  • Dude Randy and Ed are both amazing, both innovative and both unique. But in all honesty Eds got a wayyyy better tone and Van Halen as a band is so much better than QR.Also forgetting the European scene, Randy and Ed take influence from Uli Roth and Michael Schenker.

  • I agree. Eddie and Randy were both great players, I'm not one to pick and choose, I'm a big Van Halen fan. I'm just a much larger Randy Rhoads fan than I ever was an Eddie fan.

  • Randy dosent piece so many different techniques and styles like eddie and stevie vai do. He had a very skewed sound which was creating the setting for ozzys madness. Eddie was creating the palates for styles of guitar. Engwie blows my mind the most the first time i heard him. Randy is the best as a person, and the other 2 could learn something from him. And his style was badass. Hi 5!!!!

  • Thank God Ozzy made him get rid of those gay ass bowties...

  • Ive developed a theory, LA guys like Van Halen and Quiet Riot were playing places like the Wiskey. I think that there was a point were one saw the other doing the tapping thing and they said "I can do that" and they did. I think it was Randy who got it from Eddie, Im not calling Randy a rip off artist or anything trust me Im a huge Rhoads fan. Im saying that cuz Randy could learn something just by hearing or seeing it

  • There was competition with Van Halen and Quiet Riot back in the day. Eddie popularised the tapping, but he definitely was not the first guitarist to do it, nor did he invent it. Randy admitted that Eddie was an influence, it's likely he got the idea from Eddie's playing, but he deliberately avoided playing similar licks to Eddie because of the comparisons/competition.

  • Well yea Classical players had been tapping for years so Eddie wasnt the first to popularize it, classical players invented everything they even invented Drop D I think

  • Eddie admits he didnt invent tapping, but he did redifine the guitar tone by building his own gear. His rhythmic attack was unheard of at the time. His speed without taps was the first in rock guitar. He was doing this in '75 when Randy sounded more like Neal Schon, who was shredding in '75, but not like eddie was doing. Yngwie took it to another planet.

  • It's true, Eddie did redifine guitar tone and playing back then, and Van Halen were definitely the better band than early day Quiet Riot. But all of Randy's work with Ozzy is much much better than anything Eddie ever did. But that is of course only my opinion.

  • Randy has a more metal approach with minor classical influences. Diminished scales and doubling of solos was his thing, and I love it. But to say eddie dosent master classical understanding would take me to hot for teachers taps, or the break in take your whiskey home. He was touch and go, a real life idiot savant. Randy was a student who was focused on a certain style, and was on his way to mastering it. 5150 describes eddie perfectly, he is a nutjob. His style is frankenstien.

  • You're right that it's only YOUR opinion

  • no they did not invent drop d its a middle eatern tuning

  • I don't think any one group or person can take credit for tuning one string down.

  • randy's students wanted him to teach them Van Halen style and he encouraged them to develop their own. both had admitted to being influenced by the other. beside eddie playing " classical", van halen and randy had distinct styles i find difficult to compare.
