  • IM GLAD HE SAID ABOUT LOVING JOY DIVISION AND DIDNT MENTION NEW ORDER AT ALL, THAT REAL PISSES ME OFF COS THEYR A DIFFERENT BAND REALY

  • I think Ian would be quite chuffed watching and listening to this, music never dies

  • wow.

I listen to the orignal version of this song all the time.

I heard the guitar riff on HEAT just before the coffee scene. I knew I knew it but I couldn't for the life of me work out where it was from. So I wiki'ed it and youtubed all the songs on the list EXCEPT the Moby one because I never would have figured it'd have been him.

As soon as I realised it was JD's New Dawn I felt like stabbing myself as there at the top of the OST list is... Moby New Dawn

    Sorry, had to vent.

  • The cello enhances the somber mood of this song. Moby is a tenor and he is probably singing an octave higher than the baritone range of Ian Curtis. Vocal pitch is determined by anatomy. Despite this, Moby delivers an emotional performance, a fitting tribute to his hero. RIP Ian Curtis, gone thirty years but not forgotten. I hope you are at peace.

  • great cover

  • Even though this version is much better than john friuscante's, his singing reminds me of the worm baaing to lisa in the episode when she tries to establish vegetarism "Li i i i s a, what ha a a a ve I done to y o o u u?"

Anyway, this version is quite well.

  • @FischermannsFreund86 remember that John Frusciante's is just him and his guitar. They are both different styles, equally great.

  • The instrumental side is very good, catching the sadness of the original but givng it a different sound.

Moby's voice isn't quite right for this though. His voice is a little too high and he sounds too much like Michael Stipe.

  • i kinda agree, though he sings with so much passion that i think he can get away with it. it just sounds

  • Magnificent version of a great song
