Brilliant this was my answer to the Bro's buying the roses and oasis albums ! They were quality Scouse bands are awesom cannae speak but they can sing like !
One of the best live and studio bands of the 1990's. was fortunate to see them a good few times. Wish they'd reform or Jon Power would release some more solo tracks.
You tubes like a fucking time machine this takes me back to sitting watching the white room in my house or my mates drinking strongbow and trying to form our first band. When summers used to last forever! Take me back!
Met Jon in my local a couple of times , top bloke and always was friendly to people and not letting his head be in the clouds. Walk Away is my favourite track .
Is it OK to say Fuck and Cunt then? I always thought that you had to say FLICK and CLINT in capitals so that it only looked like fuck and cunt if you take your glasses off.
I've only just recently discovered Cast. They never really made it big over here in the US. Great catchy songs, melodies, and beautiful harmonies. Rock & Roll!
too damn right the music aint like it was then...or is it coz we're all nearly 30 that lived those days? Na it was better then than it is now..good point not many bands left rockin from then..supergrass and the Manics my two faves! Where did dodgy go? OCScene, bluetones, stereophonics! Who killed em all off?
i saw a poster for a dodgy gig at darlington about 4 months ago. im at uni now in leeds and OCS are playing soon so am gunna have a look and see them...they're all still around you've jst got to look for 'em haha
Bet it was a day to remember!, when I seen Feeder at the Album Chart Show in 2006, they had to play two of their three songs twice, due to technical issues, so we got to see them on stage for longer than planned! :D. Did that happen when you seen Cast on this TV show? :D :D :D.
There's very little bands left from the mid 90's now, only Feeder, Stereophonics, Puressence, Portishead and Oasis spring to mind.
These days it's a Libertines clone once every week, while the talented bands like the ones listed above get ignored in favour of them, with the exception of Oasis.
AHEM!!!! I love going to Liverpool and its produced some fookin ace bands over the years but MANCHESTER dominated the world in the 90's...guess where I'm from!! :-)
Good point celt... but you need the shit just to make the good that much better.... This country has produced the best and worst music, and that cunt Cowell, who is to music what cats diorreah is to art...
Wow, that comment should defo have been in CAPS LOCK!! Nice one :) I remember seeing them back in 1996 at the Academy in Manchester. The La's too, even before that, wow, I'm getting old :(
saw these at Knebworth when Oasis headlined think it was '96 also on the bill were The Manic Street Preachers!! what a day and night!! Good memories. Sandstorm is a classic track..
If Mavers & Power had stayed together they could have been bigger than the Beatles.

The name is from the containers on the docks that have cast written across them and still do to this day.
