@Mr1131988 I think AJ is an amazing wrestler! But not quite the FULL package to be something like that, yet. I think the only ones really who are still more full packages in terms of character and charisma happen to be the older guys. None of the new guys IMO have matched the charisma of guys like Austin, Sting, Hogan, Flair, HBK, The Rock, Angle and more.
I still prefer AJ to some of th new guys, and love watching him wrestle. But I don't see the use in force pusing younger guys to be that only because the're "young", when they don't have that full package.
@sacredrealm And I don't think it'll ever be matched again but for me the only logical choice to build TNA around other than Kurt Angle is A.J. Styles. He by far is the most popular guy on the entire roster. Maybe the most popular homegrown talent in TNA history. Never mind his so-so mic work but his work rate is off the hook. Just imagine Bret Hart who wasn't good at talking but great in the ring. That's Styles on a smaller stage.
@sacredrealm The problem is most guys' lines r written for them so there's no real emotion and they don't have the confidence to speak on a regular basis. That's why the older guys can't b replaced. Coz WWE and TNA don't do enough to make new stars by giving them the opportunity to get better at the game. Samoa Joe is the only non-WWE guy that can talk and I think he better lose some weight. Not necessarily to become jacked but it's just to avid being too fat.

This should have been the starting point of TNA breaking through to the next level. Take this promo and make Joe the face of the company, a WRESTLING COMPANY that's foundation is based completely on passion and youth.
Instead, TNA decided to give Joe a gimmick of a whiny bitch and continued to build around being WWE Lite and wrestlers that already established their names elsewhere. Then Joe got fatter, and he can probably never come back to this level in TNA.

heres the difference though with kurt angle compared to the others... kurt angle can get in the ring with anbody and it will be a five star match. he's fued with joe was one of the best tna had at the time. angle can still go and he loves putting over young talent. he put joe over at lockdown when joe won the title.

This should have been the starting point of TNA breaking through to the next level. Take this promo and make Joe the face of the company, a WRESTLING COMPANY that's foundation is based completely on passion and youth.
Instead, TNA decided to give Joe a gimmick of a whiny bitch and continued to build around being WWE Lite and wrestlers that already established their names elsewhere. Then Joe got fatter, and he can probably never come back to this level in TNA.

heres the difference though with kurt angle compared to the others... kurt angle can get in the ring with anbody and it will be a five star match. he's fued with joe was one of the best tna had at the time. angle can still go and he loves putting over young talent. he put joe over at lockdown when joe won the title.

I honestly respect Joe so much for this segment... It was productive, professional and very much so to the point...TNA should give him a life time contract after this segment because he showed his loyalty in my opinion... You have never heard Joe complain about his place in the company EVER....

Joe brought up a good point.
Bringing in old superstars, floodin' the shows with gimmicks, waterin' down the action, replacin' match time with talk segments, sacrificing the substance of pro wrestling for the style of sports entertainment...
These were all the mistakes that crippled WWE in the first place. History does repeat itself.
Joe left ROH for TNA, an' he obviously regrets his decision.
If he chooses not to return to ROH, there's always, well, NOAH. I SUPPOSE they'll take him...

This shoot isn't fair. Scott Hall is an alcoholic. He didn't 'punk out' he has a serious illness. Because of his health problems he just had a pacemaker fitted. Instead of shooting on Scott Hall like a coward, he should be shooting on the bookers for hiring an alcoholic.
Scott Hall is a wrestling legend, Samoa Joe is a fat joke.

(Angle, Anderson, J. Hardy, Flair, Hogan, Bischoff, Hall, Waltman, Steiner, Booker T, Lashley, Cage, RVD, etc etc.

This is why TNA isn't bigger than WWE. I love and respect everything that Samoa Joe can do: As a performer he is an unquestionably spectacular wrestler. A real artist all the way. But in the end being professional means being professional, right? Whether you're a wrestler, a basketball player, a lawyer, or a mechanic, being professional means helping out your company when it needs you, not embarrassing them in front of the world intentionally.
