  • I think Bono watched the Seinfeld episode where George Costanza's came up with the fictitious non-profit org., called Human Fund. It almost sounds kinda like the same scam only different. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Bono is just trying to get attention, it what lead singers tend to do when they play in a big name rock band and they aren't performing. They have lots of money, but bored and seeking everyone's attention. I think he mint be a little on the insecure side. Lol.

  • I don't get the men on stage at Women's Conference.

If I were a youngster, seeing a man under the word woman (women) would confuse me, ha!

  • such a great and world changing speech by bono! 5*****! just awesome!

  • love and peace

  • Deliver pizza

  • If these people are so concerned, why don't they move to these countries and hand out 90% of their money and put their money where their mouth is instead of the maximum amount to make themselves feel good, get a tax write off and promote their stupid products in the first place? They are just feeling their own guilt and trying to make others feel guilty in the process.

Sorry, I only help those that I feel that are worth helping that will make a long term difference. Band aids don't work.

  • Hey Bono,

Why don't you give me money? I don't have the ability to get a job. I have bills to pay.

  • You don't know poverty. True poverty.

You have clean water to drink. You don't eat bugs and mudcakes, because there is NO food.

    You're on a computer, for God's sake!

A child dies every 3 seconds in the places he's speaking about. Directly from poverty.

If you can't help, God bless you. We are ALL feeling it.

But, don't down talk the people in this world who are out on the frontlines making a difference.

  • Well, I am having to rack up more credit card debt in order to pay my bills. And the kind of poverty they are trying to fix, is unfixable.

Sorry, but they are trying to fix a problem that their own country can't fix. They are far too egotistical to think they can actually solve the problem. It's unfortunate, but it's young soul mentality that creates this false sense of security into thinking they can fix the problem. It's called ego based mentality.

  • How about not being able to eat for over a month? Is that poverty?

  • If you hadn't eaten in a month you wouldn't have the strength to type.

  • Yeah, well i only ate white rice and water for about a month and yes, I was not doing very well, but i was able to get access to a credit card, but that won't last long.

Who would rather help? Someone that probably won't ever get an education and be able to raise a healthy family? or someone with a degree, the ability to raise a family.

bono and these others are trying to remove their guilt and encouraging you to help them remove it. They end making money by selling products in the process.

  • Quit winning. And get over yourself.

NO life is more important than another.

Get offline,... Get your nails dirty. If you can't find a job, do some volunteer work. It might feed your soul. There is always someone worse off than you.

If you have a degree teach, mentor.

You don't have the ability to rase a family. According to you you can't even feed yourself.

    Sell some of your keyboards.

  • I don't have any keyboards to sell. How can I pay bills being a volunteer? They don't get paid money.

Then why don't you help me out? I have bills to pay and no ability to pay them. I have no job for over 6 years. i got wrongfully terminated and I don't have any money to get an attorney.

I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I need dental work and I have no insurance. So you method is just a way to get out of helping another person..

    OTHERWISE YOU ARE A HYPOCRITE.

  • I don't believe you can't find ANY job in 6 years.

You say you have a degree. I assume you just feel you should have a particular job.

Your posts on You Tube tell a different story. You sure do get around.

Stop looking for a handout, and stop winning.

    We all have problems.

I can't bother with you anymore.

  • I've been caring for my ill mother for 23 years. I live in Michigan (the most heavily hit on job losses). I haven't had a job in a year. I do any little gig I can do to keep our heads above water. NO job is beneath me.

I get no help. I owe no one. I have no insurance. I've needed a root canal for 10 months but, I'm putting up with it.

  • Well, that's nice. I can't even get a crappy job.

My mother died a year ago and I didn't have money to pay to visit her. My father isn't doing too well, and i can't see him either because he lives too far away from me. Gas is expensive. Well, I've to sell all of my investments, 401K, a year is NOTHING. TRY 6 1/2 years, then tell me how bad it is. I've tried to do other jobs, but I got screwed out of money that was owed to me. When I did have a job, I would help others that needed help.

  • Well, I tried to get a job that paid half of what it takes to live with my normal bills and the guy said I was overqualified. Once you get a college degree, companies that have openings for low wages won't hire people because i am more skilled than the person hiring.

  • prymalkitty,

It sounds like you are just trying to conjure up a way NOT to help another person. If I had extra money, I would certainly help another person out. I used to do it all of the time I've even given money to friends to help them, even though they didn't pay me back and it wasn't small amounts of money either.

  • f*ing road: you're not for real. bono doesn't take or make money for this, he Donates millions and donates thousands of hours, traveling expenses, etc. you don't seem to understand the difference between starved dead babies and other corpes and having a home you're living in, electricity, food enough that you;re still alive and a computer with internet connection that you could sell. for Gods sake! he's not even asking you to send him money! come on back with your lame arguments, people.

  • Bono,

Did you know that Arnold groped women and still has hasn't given them money for the pain and suffering they have gone through?

Get off your ego trip Bono, you aren't that good of a singer.

  • I thought oh no dosent Bono have Al Gore round for tea and even clinton and Blair yes he does! Now I become alarmed and I did my research and found out that Bono does go to this secret location als. He also was spotted with Blair in September at yale university and that place my god! Shall I mention this has a secret society called skull & Bones where Bush and lots of others go and indulge in sexual perversions read more!

  • Urghh! I cant stomach this arrogant twat after years of idolizing Bono and thought he was a man wit a heart compassion I did some research not intentionally on Bono but on 911 conspiracies and also 2012 and I was shocked to learn that theres this vile secret society called the illuminati which all world leaders are apart of and they go to a secret location and perform real satanic rituals hold on read more!

  • he shouLD be president of USA

  • He is so inspiring!

  • Any way to fix the volume on this??

  • Did they do that tape delay on purpose? It's somewhat distracting.I understoodthe message anyway.

  • OMG that speach was so moving. it was great to find this

  • Great, inspiring speech. "Women bear more, because they care more."

  • Thank you Bono. We all need to do our part to ending extreme poverty. Thank you for inspiring me!

  • He's (al)right.

  • Bono - I'm willing to give a huge contribution to your campaign. Contact me.

  • People who have plenty don't need to eat bushmeat. Let's end extreme poverty and save the wild animals from extinction. Parts of the world that are still teaming with wildlife attract eco tourisism, which benefits both the people and the animals who share the land. We can create a better planet!

  • the one campaign is a good thing it needs support. i'd like to know more about what it is doing

  • I'm with Bono and Warren Buffet. We must end the most extreme forms of poverty.

  • Bono is just trying to promote himself and the fact that he has a TON of money and he needs a tax write-off, a way to earn more money by promoting himself and U2 so they can sell more albums. It's typical rich person mentality. Sell products for a profit, promote a cause, get a tax write off and promote yourself to make more money. If the guy just wants to give money, then he just give money and shut up about it. Most people don't have enough to give as they are scraping by to begin with.

  • @Oneness100 The One campaign wants your voice, Product red wants you to buy things that you would buy anyway from the same company. Example, starbucks has the (red) coffees and Gap has the (red) jeans. Most people are scraping by because they live beyond their means that holds true to everyone I know (ex. fancy cellphones). And that is why product red is invented because people don't want to be asked to donate. So, someone else can do it for them.

And yes U2 is a business & Bono cofound One & red

  • @Franckdatankpart2 Did you hear that the One org. Was being investigated for not giving much of the proceeds away. Instead, they were spending money on large salaries and other promotional giveaways. How much did Bono actually give in terms of cash money? Did ever mention how much? Did they mention how much they gave to the people they were supposed to give to? Most of these non-profit companies are just scams to make you think you are giving to needy people, but Bono takes the credit.

  • @Oneness100 In the product red issue It is the host company that makes the donation. Starbucks, Gap, Hallmark, Dell, Microsoft they make that donation to the global fund which is around 10% per (red) item sold. Those companies dont scam they cant. It is true (red) hasnt done so well because it is hard to sell, they did donate 100 million or + the past 4 yrs to the Global fund. One doesnt donate it is a campaign focused on getting gov'mts to Donate To African countries that have transparent govs

  • @Franckdatankpart2 THEY make the donation, but the consumer doesn't get the tax write off. how much of that 10% donation goes towards what it is supposed to go to? Only a very small portion, if you look at most non- profit organizations, only a small percentage goes towards the intended purpose and they don't have much to show for in the end. They are taking money from people in this country to give to complete strangers in other countries. It is just an ego trip for people like Bono.

  • If we can't even have a country that is going bankrupt, we can't afford to help other countries right now. our country already helps other countries, but I don't them getting their feet not he ground because they have problems their own country has problems dealing with. our country needs to focus on getting our country back in the black, otherwise, I country will become another third world country, we are already going in that direction.

  • @Franckdatankpart2 Bottom line, these companies are getting accolades for selling a product where a portion goes to a non-profit company so they can get a tax write off and good press. Bono gets press since he has nothing else to do, plus he indirectly sells more CDs to people that don't normally buy U2 music. He gets to write off his activity as well and he looks like he is a morally good person. But whose money was it? The consumers money, they get a product that is RED, w/ no write off.

  • @Oneness100 exactly now you got it, everyone benefits from it. 1st that consumer doesnt need a write off they are buying a product - getting their money's worth in a product. not a more expensive one but a normal one that they would buy anyway. Told u already. Some are more expensive that is up to the consumer to decide where they wanna put their money and how much. Fact is anyone could stop at a Gap store and buy a 4.99 bracelet if all they wanted was to support the cause. Thats all Bono asks.

  • @Franckdatankpart2 What you are missing is that BONO gets the write off, the companies that sell thew product get a write off and they both get some sort of publicity for being a humanitarian, yet The customer is buying a product is colored RED. I think it is way for THEM to get the attention and the write and all you get is q product packed RED. Bono's little non- profit then asorbs MOST of that 10% and the intended party gets pennies on the dollar from what is contributed. Screw Bono.

  • What's really stupid is that Bono doesn't divulge how much he is contributing and how much money is being taken back. I don't know why there are so many non-profit companies doing the same thing, when there aren't any tangible results they can quantify. Bono makes money by creating music that is targeted towards the 15 to 25 year olds that don't much of a background in music, they make MILLIONS from basically musically uneducated people. Bono needs attention to feed his ego.

  • @Oneness100 Charity with celebrity's is a double edged sword, if they tell you how much they give you would say they are doing it for attention, if they don't say how much they give then you ask if they are giving anything at all.

And so what if he is doing it for attention, do you think the people who are still alive thanks to his actions care what his motives are? If he is doing it for his ego would it not be better to buy into it so other rich people want to get a slice of the praise?

  • @Oneness100 As far as U2's music how many 15 to 25 year do you know that buy music anymore? Let alone U2 music. U2 are not a "cool" band and make very little of their money from record sales.

Music is subjective, there is no right or wrong answer so there is no such thing as musically uneducated. You either you like something or you don't, if you don't like it don't buy it and ignore it and let the people who do like it enjoy it.

  • @DanotheSnitch No such thing as musically uneducated? Oh really, so if someone has no background in music, doesn't study music is educated in music? yeah, people like the Monkees, Lady Gaga, the Chipmunks, Britney Spears, etc. yeah music is subjective, but some people have a little more background and experience to decide what is high quality and what isn't.

  • @Oneness100 By musically uneducated I obviously meant taste in music as apposed to someone who studied it.

Who decides what high quality and what isn't? Whats the criteria? Objectively I know Radiohead are good musicians but I don't enjoy their music so I don't listen or pass comment.

I don't like cheese but I know some people do, should I have a go at them for liking it? Food just like music is subjective, if you don't like U2 or Bono why waste your own time commenting on them?

  • @Franckdatankpart2 You want to help Africa, buy something that is made in Africa. Want to help spmeone with AIDS, go volunteer your time, or give an AIDs patient some money to help them pay bills. you want to help someone that needs money, give to someone directly. People can write off gift money. Plus you get the gratification directly from the recipient and your not allowing corporations or selfish people to their ego-based behavior.

  • @jamesoclark How about giving to people that have lost their jobs that haven't been able to work in the last 8 years?
