Those firefighters also killed a 8yo girl who was riding her bicycle on the grass by the road.
Same thing happened, Firetruck going to fast around corner and fell on top of child. They could have very easily killed those other firefighters had that truck rolled over.
I remember a magazine I used to read called simply: FIREHOUSE. There was a big article write up about that here in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Too many emergency vehicles speeding to calls, endangering many lives. I remember there were dozens of accidents and the various townships were forking out tens of thousands for injuries. Vehicles were driving in excess of 85mph. That's a bit too fast especially for many of the residential zones around here.
@JohnConnor333 Good luck when a flashover happens, or its a fully involved fire. Maybe even when a backdraft happens...ya, be careful what you wish for bubba.
@OogleManiac - Nowhere have I said to follow the speed limits.
What I and others are saying is to drive to the conditions and the area. In this case, high speed, around a bend in a residiential area with people standing around, is not safe.
To drive a truck in such a way that ends up on 3 wheels, is unsafe.
I don't have a clue to your background, but I have 15 years with the Emergency Services and am yet to respond to a call that needs me to drive like a dick, in an unsafe manner.
*ohhh. back in my early firefighting days we had to run water up from the river, not driving in them fancy fireautomobiles and what-nots. ohhh yes. back in the day*
this shit is crazy! THis firefighter should've been banned from driving fire trucks. THat firefighter is basically driving close to 750 thousand dollars on wheels. Proper SOPs should be followed for traffic laws. We shouldn't be having close call emergencies like this...
Im a Country Fire Volunteer in Victoria, for one of the larger Stations and We do not drive our trucks that fast onto a fire scene, that was stupid and a blatant disregard for the safety of bystanders... if that truck rolled it could have killed

No Emergency vehicle operator has a license to drive as recklessly as was shown on this video. That maneuver would have been a failure or remediation on an training course. COPS, EMS and Firefighters are useless if they don't make it to the scene safely. We all want to go home at the end of our shifts.

even though firetrucks are prepared not to do this, water inside the truck shifts the balance and weight of the truck

@V8block8 Thats why they have baffles in the tank to reduce the shifting of water, not the appliances fault that it handled like it did ;-)
