The 80s had awful music. I agree with you there. But they have only "stolen" the genre to make it into something completely different and wonderful. You can't judge someone one or something for stealing something as everything has already been done. All there is to do is add on to things that have already been created. Just look at technology and name one thing that isn't made up of many already made inventions. It's the same with music. It doesn't mean they aren't unique.
