1966 Austin Healey Sprite

Has the tranny been rebuilt because my ranger does this and is because I had straight cut gears installed for added strength

sounds like the throw out bearing needs to be replaced

This is what most of the Sprites I've driven sound like, but my '66 is silent. It didn't sound like that from the factory.

Hi. The noise you're hearing is the whine from the straight-cut first gear, however there's a lot more judder than should be expected......maybe the bearing is badly worn on first?
