I wonder why the first truck had a number plate/tag but the second didn't.

We often see seriously high speed police escorts around these parts. I believe it's a route taking some of the more big-time criminals between court and prison and they are avoiding rescue attempts. A fleet of cars, bikes and prisoner vans - very fast and very loud.
