  • awesome video man!

  • Oh no, it's the evil "thumb over the top of the neck" hold they taught me about! EVIL! PURE EVIL! BACK YOU HEATHEN!

  • @DryeLint Unfortunately, McCartney is a heathen as well.

  • Kocuhu, how much did that Ric cost? Thanks

  • @sclongisawesome My Rickenbacker 4001 is odd enough because it is built of C64 body and V63 pickups. I bought it at about $1500.

  • @kocuhu That was a steal! Wish I could get one like that!

  • What equalization and compressor settings are you using to obtain this sound ? I also own a rickenbacker but i'm still far to obtain your tone.

  • @cjorata See the above description "Paperbackwriter-EQ.png" and "Paperbackwriter-COMP.png". Sorry it's Japanese.

  • I'm a Fan of Kocuhu.

    Thank you from New York.

  • What pick do you use?

  • @XxH3LLsB3LLsxX I prefer common fat triangle shape such as Fender 346, and heavy gauge.

  • So on this one did you use a virtual amp and then equalize sound?

  • @TheBeatlesbassman Yes. And I also used a compressor.

  • Yeah!!!

  • Oh! Nevermind I found itz :D

  • Dangit! New youtube stinks! I can't find the subscribe button.. -.-

  • you learn the song by ear

  • That bass is so beautiful... I want one! With my luck, someone will probably steal it.

  • This is one of those songs where you think "how the hell did he even come up with that bass line?!"

  • Would be great to see you play "whats the Buzz" from Jesus Christ Superstar.

  • Fantastic..really great to see..

  • Brilliant!!! GREAT JOB!

  • Great sound. Great playing. Great eye-candy! Suh-WEET!

  • ...Paul?

  • For these vids to be effective you have to make the volume a bit louder than the backing track ; it's not standing out enough even though I'm sure it's good

  • Nice job and cool video work.

  • does your ric have a horseshoe pickup on the bridge?

  • @vaughntrapp Yes. But unlike 1960's, it is not magnetized.

  • I love this cover. The visual presentation and the sound is great. Good job!

  • Nice job buddy ! I am a Paul McCartney in a major U.S. tribue show.

  • OMFG this and Rain note for note you are a genius!!!!!

  • Quite nice sound!!!! ;) Congrats!

  • Paperback writer touched on bass Rickenbacker Hofner not, like, really good.

  • Round or flat wound strings??

  • @gt8gtrman Flat wound strings. LaBella 760FX.

  • one more question... what kind of amp do you use, i just really like the sound you have

  • @hofnerbass24

In this case, I didn't use an amp such as Fender Bassman. I plugged the bass in ZOOM B2.1u Phone-Jack directly. Then I used free VST plugins to compress or equalize sound. I can't remember details.

  • Do u like the thomastik ifeld bass strings, or do u prefer the labella

  • @hofnerbass24

Though I'm interested in the thomastik, I have never used other strings but the labella.

I am satisfied with the labella so far.

  • @TeamMastaPr2

I heard that Paul got Rickenbacker in August, 1965, and began to use on the Rubber Soul sessions.

  • @kocuhu Maybe, I haven't seen him with the Rickenbacker before 1967 - he used the Hofner live (while John and George used other guitars than they used before on their performances) until they stopped touring. I can't tell which bass he recorded with.

  • @kocuhu the music vidio for paperback writer paul used the hofner

  • @tinseth7 McCartney always used the Hofner on stage because it is lightweight and easier to move with. The Rickenbacker was almost exclusively used in the studio in a seated position.

  • @TeamMastaPr2 nah. he got his rickenbacker in 65. used it for this and the rubber soul and that. used it until 1968 and used a jazz bass and the rick with the hofner. then up to let it be he used the hofner then stayed with the rick for wings

  • please, would you play rain too, thanks. p.s.: congratulations, great bass line

  • You got a nice distortion!

  • Your making me jealous with that bass!

  • Which is better, the zoom r16 or the ZOOM B2.1u?

  • @paulbass19

As a USB audio interface, the performance of R16 is higher.

    R16:24bit, 44.1/48/88.2/96kHz

    B2.1u:16bit, 32/44.1/48kHz

But if you use B2.1u, you can record the sound with effects suitable for bass.

So I prefer B2.1u in this situation.

Anyway R16 is also the great gadget.

  • Awesome!!! great cover, keep the videos coming!!!!

  • Great video! This gets better and better!
