I think my family & I will be going to Amanpulo this summer, which I'm really excited for. but the thing is, my dad's not really a water sports type and I'm an only child (teen). so will there be much to do?
If you plan to go to Amanpulo, I recommend booking thru HAS Travel, they can organize everything for you. Check out their website hastravel . com. They have the best rates and can put together a sweet local package if you are from the Philippines or hold a local drivers license.
But BOOK EARLY, Amanpulo only has 42 units and December is always fully booked 6 months in advance. ENJOY!!
@cilit99 Amanpulo and Boracay are two completely different experiences.
BORACAY is a fun, lively, & festive destination. The boardwalk is a great place to walk & enjoy the many small resorts, shops & restos. With hawkers, free lance massage therapists & tattoo artists every few feet... Boracay is a fun place to "experience".
AMANPULO on the other hand, is a very exclusive, very private place. With incredible facilities, 6 star service & amazing scenery, You feel youre on a deserted island!
To stay one night will cost you about US$1,000++, plus round trip airfare. Which is about US$350 each (as I recall). I would recommend you stay at least 3 nights, otherwise you'll never get into the ZONE. This place is not for everyone... but if you're looking for something truly special, then this is it!
This place is truly unbelievable...even the islands history is preserved in a 3 volume book set, located in their beautiful library. (a short version is also included in every room) This place is a must see for anyone who wants to impress, or simply do something really different on your next vacation.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I really want to go to Amanpulo one day. Do you mind asking how much did you spend on everything including the plane ride, or was it included on the rate too? Thanks!
As I recall, Amanpulo charges about US$950++ per day. Rate includes everything. Our package included a massage in our room (for 2), unlimited use of your own private golf cart and full meals. (drinks extra) I ordered popcorn one night and expected to pay $25 for it, but was personally delivered to my door in minutes without charge. So if you want to be pampered, I mean REALLY PAMPERED. Like rock star pampered, then this is the place to go.
Not cheap by any means, but super exclusive and absolutely 6 stars all the way around. Oh, one last thing... bring your iPod... all the rooms include large LCDs and iPod docking stations and excellent sound systems.
@Forkmeister Nice! Did you guys have the Beach Casitas or the Villas? I was thinking of doing the 3-day getaway with my boyfriend one day. Do you pay any extras for your dinner by the shore? Thanks!
@Jdoll2487 Beach Casita, they have 40 of them but are separated by about 100 meters each, with dense forrest in between. Very private. Amanpulo is solid booked all the time, but looks empty when you drive around the island. Feels like you're on a deserted island, absolutely magical. We walked around the entire island (on the beach) and did not see a single person! For a 3 day getaway, I would suggest their romance package... it includes BBQ on the beach and all the romance you could ever want.
Amanpulo is one of the most spectacular resorts in the world. Extremely private, it is a favorite among celebs around the world. We enjoyed it too. =))
This is a high end resort developed by ANSCOR.
