The countries don't have to be in Europe, just the EBU (European Broadcasting Union?) broadcasting range. That is why Israel is in the normal Eurovision Song Contest.

Yeah, the Netherlands had a great performance! I'm from the UK and I watched Jesc 2009 at my friends' house in the Netherlands. I think Sweden and Russia were very well too!

this year is a small festival because only 13 contries participate in this contest but the songs are very good!!!! the best songs are armenia! sweeden! belgium! the neetherlands! belarus! and Former Yugoslavian Republic Of Macedonia! GOOD LOOCK FOR EVERITHING!

i guess that if belgium, netherlands/sweden ends to low for what they deserve they will quit.

if only 10 countries participate it's boring , it isn't jesc anymore , i can't watch it anymore & maybee it will never have place any more. but if they ends high enough maybee other lands wil join(again) if they had enough money! i give every non-europe country a change but use it well or you didn't deserve he participate anymore!

Why did they shorten the "lalalalala" music for? It was fine keeping it all, and even for the contestant intros, the make unecessary loops to lengthen it when all they had to do was just keep it all intact to last the intro! tsktsk hopefully they change it for tomorrow's show and that's the only complaint I have about the rehearsal lol...
