  • i live in the smokey mnts tn.i have a true giant alaskan malamute, but have a local woman near buy who breeds and sometimes sells true 100% timber wolves.ive been to her kennel and her wolves are so beautiful.when you approach the huge lot she keeps them in.they pace back and forth watching you.lol

  • GREAT MXING A WOLF WITH A SIBERIAN HUSKY WHICH IS NOTORIS FOR BOLTING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @swoosh50, ??? She was a rescue...I didn't breed or purchase her. And she ahs no husky...she has GSD and malamute though. :)

  • @wolfdogfostermom Nice lil wolf!!I have two wolf hybrid and I live in the country and get a lot of attention from people passing by. They are both males and high percentage because I had even husky breeders tell me where I got these bad boys, pretty sure you get the same attention. Question I have is where would I be able to come upon another high percentage hybrid?????

  • My baby was 3/4 wolf, ALOT of work but so worth it! She did have "quirks" but was true family! Thanks 4 taking time 2 educate folk on what they n 4!

  • @hooster22 dem yours

  • shut up lady you act like your a wolf your self ohhh your so cool!! let me guess you drive a pick up truck too oh sooo cool

  • @hooster22, Actually no, I don't. Here's something for you. Unless you have something intelligent to say, don't comment...it just makes you look even more ignorant.

  • I really love the information you put up here. It's true that most people are ignorant about wolves, and I admit that before my family started fostering wolves and wolfdogs, we were pretty ignorant ourselves.

One thing that I know for a fact about wolves, is that they never forget kindness. You may have to punish them every once and a while, like every dog needs to be, but if you hug them, feed them, and play with them, they will never forget you.

  • @MoonstoneProductions, Thank you! I am not always the best public speaker, but I was trying to make it ok! Haha and yes...especially food, lol!

  • @wolfdogfostermom where would I be able to contain one of these wolf hybrid?????????????????

  • If you want a wolf, Just get a husky, Wolves belong free in the wild!

  • It's going to be funny when it tears your ass apart HAH!

  • @xCh34pShOtx, Yeah, you're an idiot. :)

  • hybrid owners are douche ignorants

  • @arcand88 And people that post comments like yours that lack intelligence and have horrible grammar, are idiots. I am involved in rescue and foster, I am very experienced with these woofers and all of my animals are fixed. Go bother someone else.

  • @wolfdogfostermom If he would have re-worded that a little differently than he'd be correct. Many hybrid owners are ignorant of how to properly care for one, but that doesn't mean all owners are.

  • @Fluffball176, Perhaps. I apologize if I came across as a little defensive. I get a lot of...special comments. Indeed...I can agree with that one. Most people are not capable of properly caring for dogs, among other "easy" pets. It is unfortunate that responsible woofer caretakers are few and far between.

  • How old do you have to start training wolf hybrids?

  • @FeliDJrah Training a wolf hybrid is somewhat more challenging than training a normal pup. Start young and be more strict.

6 weeks is a good age to start at.

  • Great job!

  • What type of wolf dog u have i mean what its mixed with?

  • i heard that their brain is biggger than dogs, so i guess is smarter than a dog,.......my question is this..is it harder to train?? or do their wild side come to life if it doesnt like the owner??? you know when they grew up??

  • @chilenkon They are smarter than normal dogs, and they are more subborn with training. At the age of 2 years, you usually have to watch their mood, that's when it sets to being good or bad.

  • I love this video! Where did you get your wolfdog, and what content is he?

  • i am wanting to own a couple of wolf hybrids but i haven't been able to find what i need in order to do that. what are the things that i need and what is the price for each item?

  • Thank you so much for posting this video!!!! You are absolutely correct in your knowledge. A high content animal is a whole other ball game than a hybrid that has been bred back to dog after dog, which in reality makes it a domesticated animal and it has lost most of it's wildness.

  • Many wolf experts are opposed to the sell of wolf hybrids or any content wolf mixed with dog. They say it does nothing for the species and only exposes people to wolf hybrids that are not as easily controlled as a regular dog, which may mean increased instances of them biting their owners and more of them ending up killed after the owners give them up due not knowing what they got themselves into. I own a wolf hybrid which I took in to avoid it being destroyed, & love it dearly. Your opinion?

  • I found mine in the wild, its a hybrid of some kind. AND BTW, if you took that creature out of the damn cage or socialized it you wouldn't need to have him locked up.

  • @HedgieDiva, Yeah, I am sure. I have 5 fully fenced acres and a giant backyard that my animals spend a lot of time in (not even including their frequent stays in the house and overnight). It's called an enclosure, one that is of adequate size and usually required when you adopt wolfdogs, especially ones of higher content. My animals are socialized, come to work with me often (vet clinic) and go hiking almost every weekend when it's cool. And...the little blackphase in this video is FEMALE.

  • @HedgieDiva, You might want to see who you're talking to before you open your mouth. But thank you for the input and your concern.

  • @wolfdogfostermom I'm not worried about it at all; Your just another person on the computer get over it; Btw I have a very low content wolf x which we found; in a trap :)

  • @HedgieDiva, Ok. I am not the one that started this conversation. Likewise...just stop commenting.

  • @HedgieDiva, My enclosure is for when I am at work and they are not with me. Please do, find out for me how many people leave their REAL (nicely socialized and handled) wolfdogs (talking more mid-high contents) unattended in the house while they are at work and still have a house when they get home? Very few and far, i can tell you that right now.

  • @wolfdogfostermom Are you are right, they are difficult to raise, they dont act like dogs.

  • @HedgieDiva, "Are you are right?" You are not making any sense.

  • @wolfdogfostermom Sorry, i'm doing a bio paper and it's a pain; People get wild animals thinking they can ' take the wild out of them, People either end up with a lower content animal, or a very HIGH content animal that they cant handle.

  • @HedgieDiva, Ah, and I completely agree. She is a rescue and is a mid content. I would not consider her a wild animal. Is she special...yes. Is she more work then a "regular dog" or a low content? Yes. Is she as difficult as a high content? Haha, absolutely not.

  • @wolfdogfostermom Mine is the lowest of the low and is extremely difficult.

  • @HedgieDiva, Any trapped, feral, unsocialized, poorly bred animal is going to be a bit more difficult- even young puppies. Recent wolf heritage or not. I am not saying that all low contents are a walk in the park. But the majority are. Just like saying the majority of Labs are the happiest-go-lucky dogs in the world...and then I have met a few that will take your face off. Not abused. Not rescued. Just poorly bred and raised dogs.

  • @wolfdogfostermom Hes 13 now ^_^; happy happy dog; Just more independent then the average dog; I love him. NOOO I am saying any animal can be extremely difficult it all depends on the animal, breed/species and how its brought up. A wolf is more body language oriented the a dog; much more mouthy doesn't bark. A dog looks up to its owner much much much more. both wonderfull animals.

  • @wolfdogfostermom I just have a hunch my rescue is part wolf I really don't know; just doesn't bark or behave like a dog.

  • Most wolfdogs in the USA come from the Motts or Smith lines. Old fur trading companies that raised and sold furs. People saying they have 1st or 2nd generation 96% wolves usually have tenth generation low content at best. Wolfdog pups are not being stolen from the wild, they have been around for the last 50 years and are pretty much effectively dogs after breeding in captivity for this many years, this includes the ones on this video, but yes they are skiddish, shy and a handfull but loving.

  • Hello I want to buy a pure breed czech wolfdog with high count wolf and alpha male. I am slavic my family has been around them for year's untill my grandfather came to america. So as the only grandson. I am just like him I love wolf. And dogs. I real am intrest in getting a 100% wolf or a high count wolfdog alpha male. Please inbox me how I can get one in america and how much. For it. And. Do I need a license to own one like a pit bull. ..by the way. I am living in columbus ohio right now

  • If you're considering getting a hybrid, FORGET IT. It's WAY too risky to try and find a "low content" hybrid. You might end up with an animal that is mostly wolf. Instead, consider whether or not you could even handle a Siberian Husky. If you really want a "piece of the wild", do your homework on Siberian Huskies, Malamutes or Samoyeds. Although they are dogs and not wolves, they are closest in appearance and behavior to "the wild" than any other breed. I have two Siberians that are GREAT.

  • good video.. now can you tell where can i buy one or get one ..

  • Thank you this video can actually TEACH some people something, (: I have a wolfhybrid and they are hard to handle. I have a short video of him on my Channel if you'd like to see, I wanna know what you would say, like is he low, mid, high?

  • Are they much harder to train than pure dogs?

  • i have a low contetn wolf dog. prob is, wolf dogs with higher content than 5 generations back have to be killed as puppies so our vet just put alaskan husky/jämthund mix in her eu-passport, since she's seen her from the very moment she was born, she knew it is a low content wolf dog.

and apart from that, she was our first dog, had her for 2 years now. she was beat in her first home. so when i saw that shy, totally frightened to death puppy and the asshole of owner, i had to buy her out of there

  • Thanks for this great informative video, its been a dream of mine to some day own a wolf hybrid or wolf dog since a very young age and after years of owning various dogs of my own and training them, i feel i am ready to have one join my pack! I am very wary of wolf dog breeders as of the very reasons you pointed out, would you by any chance know of any respectable breeders? any info would be great fully received.

    Thanks!

  • @joshmiller1810, Thanks and I know I haven't posted any of my follow-up videos! AH! I always push rescue first- there are many good wolfdogs that are in rescue and need good homes!!! However, I can send you a message with a few breeders information. Are you interested in a particular content range?

  • very informative alot of people really doesn't understand the handling of exotic/hybrid species like you said a wolf will be a wolf

  • I was actually hoping for some information, all you did was whine about the same thing over and over and over and over again for 5 minutes, but never gave any actually information about these animals....

  • @judyann1969, If you read my description- this was just an introduction and its over a year old. I have not made any mroe vieods because I really haven't had the time. And like I have mentioned in previous responses- this was my first video, on a camera PHONE. I am much better at typing responses anyway. If you want more information, I have one of the most informative websites on wolfdogs in the wolfdog world. All links on on my channel page. Be a little more constructive next time.

  • Videos*

  • What state do you live in?

  • can i have a wolf dog plz?

  • Wow some people comments are quite rude! Nice video

  • @Jazumin99, Lol, thank you and yes...it's ok. I've learned to deal with it. For the most part, lol! :D

  • Bottom line is all dogs descend from the wolf however dogs that have one domestic parent and a wolf parent are often more dangerous than a pure breed wolf itself

  • I had a german shepard mixed wolf and she was the best dog I ever had

  • video is too damn long and you talk too much!!!

  • @6703445, Ok...5 minutes is not that long and talking was kind of the point. That's what most educational bits are. If you don't want to hear talking, go look at someone elses videos. If you can't give CONSTRUCTIVE critisism, don't comment.

  • @wolfdogfostermom You're right, you really did only talk for a short period of time, the problem is, it seemed MUCH longer. Why? A. Because you repeated the same talking points over and over, just slightly differently packaged. B. Your voice is just annoying.

  • @Alf90100, Awww, thanks! I will run that by my voice coach when I see him next week!!! I apologize in advance if my voice was not up to par. -__- I was nervous...for crying out loud, I made this video on my cell phone. But thank you for your delightful feedback. :D No one forced you to watch this. If you don't like it, I know how to simply solve your problem. Don't watch it. I did my best to make it educational and more then enough people have appreciated it. ^_^

  • @wolfdogfostermom I'm sorry, it was late when I posted that it appears to come out much nastier than I had intended for it too. I meant to offer constructive criticism but I obviously failed at putting my thoughts into words. You kind of did repeat yourself too many times, it might be better in the future to script yourself and plan exactly what you want to say. You sounded a bit short of breath. Slow it down, breath in! Maybe show off your dog a little more to keep watchers interested.

  • @Alf90100, Apology accepted, and thank you (seriously) for your feedback this time. I do appreciate it and I will try! :) I haven't made another one for obvious reasons, LOL!

  • Very glad I stumbled apon this. I own an upper mid content (presumably, since like you mentioned, a breeder can fib) and he was a bit of a pain as a very little puppy but is an amazingly wonderful 5 month old now. I've bought a few books about Wolf Hybrids and have read all the possible concerns and problems with them as a whole and now I can watch your videos! I have to say that wolf hybrids have completely captured my heart!

  • Good video, Subscibed and liked

  • Hey where can I get one this lady had a low comtent for a cheap price ive seen a super high content well not super but like 96.99% wolf dog my uncle has one in alaska and are wplf hybrifs illigel in cal sandieg0?i m responssible I took my uncles dpg out hunting with ne b 4, wow dod those instincks kick in quick

  • and he was brought back no longer than 2 weeks each time he was given out. He latter said he "felt sorry for the SOB" all that while my pops thought it was a Husky mix, he said the the wolf outsmarted the 2 German shephards, always found a way to unlatch the German shephards kennel, my father never kept the wolf kenneled up no idea why, and when the pair got loose they would cause havoc by going after people and the wolf would simply watch. My pops had a love hate with him for 17 yrs

  • He kept him in the store his entire ( whic he loved) it was large store/warehouse, used to have free run of the place including a yard. He told me he would climb up shelfs in his younger years like a cat! he was always roaming in search of something. Then the ware house got robbed 3 times while the wolf hyrbid simply watched! He latter got 2 German shephards for the store which did the trick of protecting the store. When I asked him why he never got rid of him he said he did 5 times,

  • My father unwillingly had a wolf hyrbid in the 70's that he purchased from got from a truck driver who used to drive from canada to nyc. . He kept him for 17 years, the vet he used to take him to was an old man in the corner block used to jab and tell my dad he was fine lol.

When I saw the picture of the Dog I told him pops, thats not a damn dog, you owned a high content wolf. When I told him that he simply said " that explained alot about the bastard" LMAO.

  • i wonder when you'll be attacked by a flood of 13 to 20 year old idiots saying "MIne is a woof, a full wufff and I raised it as a baby thus it's tame and loving, look how he plays with me in the house, and look at these two play together in the yard with a teather ball. you are the ignorant hater person! you are stupid I work with bears so I know what I'm doing"

good thing for this video. there are a lot of idiots. they are called wolfaboos

  • @kuwaizair, Oh, I already have, lol! Unfortunately it never ends and even worse, some people will never get it. I love when someone tells me their "98% high content" that was born white with pink paw pads, in October and has a curly tail, is really a high content because that's what their "papers" says. Their registered with the CKC or UKC. What a joke.

  • @wolfdogfostermom

it happens so much I decided to make my own video with my pet wolf Ivan. he's only 1% not wolf(the video is in my videos although I feel like making another one and telling a differnts story, and tell the truth that I acctualy caught mine and rasied him)

  • @wolfdogfostermom there are some who's hybreds are harmless, and some whos hybred will only be trained to kill stray cats and wild foxes, but love humans so much, even at 50/50%.

  • @wolfdogfostermom I have a low content, they aren't good animals for people who don't know what they are doing. they bite, mine snaps HARD.fractured my hand, still loves him though.

  • @kuwaizair Can I add I'm 15, And understand a full wolf, Baby or not. Will not be all friendly. It's in their gene's to be the way they are, People are such idiot's if they think people will believe them when they say they have pure wolfs, They're well.. Stupid.

  • @kuwaizair Like your comment! Has little grammar, and has little actual facts. By the way? Natives raised wolves. Wolves feared humans. Wolves are no more than pretty much wild dogs. Like most dogs, they were once predators. You, my friend, are an idiot.

  • @Tyco200 Since when are wolves not predators anymore?

  • @Tyco200

But that's the thing, his comment was actually about people who believe they can possibly have a tame "wolf", and that they can be completely domesticated like a dog.

  • and 25% what else?

  • @MsRuneMagic,

I am not sure that Trace knows what they are talking about. No %s here, she is a mid content blackphase wolfdog (yes with GSD and Mal in her lineage). She was a rescue and was sold as a pure wolf- obviously she is not.

  • Nice Dog , 50% Malamute, 25%German Shepherd.

  • @Trace2314,

A dog you say? She is a mid content blackphase, yes with GSD and Mal. Not to sound rude, but if there is anyone on youtube that actually knows what they are talking about and has a real wolfdog, it is me, among very few other people.

  • @wolfdogfostermom

Ok i wish you and your mid wolf all the best

  • @Trace2314,

I am just curious as to why are thinking that. She is very young in this video, please do check out other videos of her. She is also the background animal on my channel page. She looks like a GSD/Mal mix? It would be very unusual to see a GSD/Mal mix that is phasing out like a blackphase wolf. Dogs do not phase like that.

  • They are intense in behavior, normal dogs occasionally challenge the pack structure but wolfdogs, especially high contents and purebloods will, especially if you are the same sex as the wolfdog. They can get get lonely so need another dog (the more the merrier!) to be around when your not there. They 'stink' a bit more than most other dogs (Kind of like how like ferrets smell okay to some people and nasty to others). They need to know that cats are friends, NOT food. Chickens? Forget it.

  • @SlyClay117 I actually think wolfdogs smell BETTER than other dogs! Other than when they've scent rolled in horse poop, of course xD

  • @LupineTotem,

LOL! Tell me about it. Horse pee is not something I wish to have rubbed on me first thing in the morning... D:

  • Just wanted to utilize another possibility to reach you. Have left a comment on your guestbook at your website as well as sent an email from there as well. Just wanted to leave a comment here too. My S/N on your site is "LovesNaKomi," I just joined tonight and would like to speak with you. Left email at website. Thanks

  • WOW...And what makes you an expert hunny? Your dog is looking pretty mangy by the way.. Maybe cuz you got it locked up. Mine run free in the wilderness.

Before you attempt to be a control freak and "educate" others, you should get your facts straight first. Do you know how to analyze DNA? Or have a degree in zoology? didn't think so. Therefore you can;t go around telling folks what you think their pets are, whether they are wolfs or dogs.

  • @takodathewolf, LOL. I like you! She is a rescue, deary- recently so in this video, and was only about 5 1/2 months old. :) A REAL wolfdog does need proper containment :) And she and her penmate have plenty of out time, in the house and on acres to run. :) You do not need a degree in either to phenotype for wolf/wolfdog rescues and be very good at it. It comes with A LOT of experience with these animals.

  • @takodathewolf,

I can give you plenty of references- I am very good at what I do and they trust me with these animals lives. I'm sure you would love multiple slaps in the face. :)

  • @wolfdogfostermom Dont let him get to you, you know what you have doesnt compare anywhere near to his mostly husky, always amazes me how someone can claim 98% wolf when its closer to 98% dog

  • I didn't notice you had uploaded it until now! :) LOVE IT! XD

  • Great to see someone educating on here about real wolfdogs. The funny thing about these wolfdogs out there is that the last time wolf genetics were available to mix with dogs was during the 50s, after all they are on the endangered species list, also they require a federal permit. 99 % of the wolfdogs on youtube are pure huskies and or malamutes, no wolf what so ever. The wolf or wolfdog label placed on them are by owners inflating their egos with their dogs, how sad.

  • @SHvar,

Thank you and tell me about it! >_< It's so frustrating trying to get the right information out there-its like talking to a brick wall sometimes! And what's sad is most of them don't realize how dangerous it is and how it is hurting good dogs, wolfdogs and wolves! I am trying to get my next video out, but my furkids are not cooperating! lol! Reagan thinks now after one video, that it's all about her! So I need to do a sneaky video when she is asleep and just talk about Peto! lol

  • @wootdog2010,

Thank you and yes. People don't realize there is a big difference between raising lower contents and true high contents (even some mids and upper mids too). My mid/upper mid girl is about 60lbs and just turned 6 months, so your girl is going to be a MONSTER!!! lol :) I agree. I would never expect anyone else, unless they were experienced with wolves/wolfdogs, to be able to handle my guys- even Peto who is a lower mid!!!!

  • Reagan is so cute >< i would like to know what do you feed them?and do you let them in your house?if so when do you?

  • @mikeasian213,

Thank you :) She is a beast <3 I feed my guys a 50/50 raw and high quality (holistic) kibble- usually a mix between raw turkey (necks and backs) and elk, Blue Buffalo Wilderness and EVO. And yes and no. My old man (15yrs) stays inside full time, Reagan sleeps in at night and Peto is full-time outside. I have done A LOT of adjusting and "wolf proofing" in the house. Monty can go unsupervised- but I would NEVER leave Reagan (or Peto) unsupervised in the house!

  • Great job on the video!! The new baby looks very happy and healthy, keep up the great work, looking forward to the second vid.

  • @Hippiechicmom3,

Thank you :) And how are your guys doing? I am hoping to put the next VID up soon- but Peto isn't cooperating with the camera, lol!

  • great video, well explained!

  • @13elsyd13,

    Thank you

  • That is a really good video! =) Good job!

  • @RoxyAgilityRox,

Thank you! I am working on my 2nd one, but my animals are not cooperating! lol :)

  • i think its funny when a person thinks there australian shepherd is a purebred wolf

  • @nicholasbhicks,

Funny, but very frustrating- and trying to talk to some of those people...like talking to a brick wall x_x People don't realize how dangerous it is :(

  • @wolfdogfostermom i try to tell them. people think its mean but when those fake wolfdogs hurt hurt someone it goes against the real thing's record and the truth is true high contents are terrified of anyone they dont know

  • @nicholasbhicks,

    Exactly!

  • Awesome video, I will put a link on y Facebook so everyone can see this. It is very educational and I learned A LOT.

  • @xxkittycatt13xx,

Thank you, and thank you for watching. I am hoping to get the next video done this week, I just need to find time between work, my animals and church x_x Thank you and hopefully more people will watch and learn something from these videos.

  • Good job on the video ! 5+++ :)

keep up the good work on educating the right way unlike some others on youtube who dont seem to be saying the right information!

    Reagon is getting so big!

  • @APPLEHEAD2009,

Thank you and I am hoping these videos get a lot of hits. If you have any idea's or see something that should be addressed, please let me know. I was a little nervous talking, so I hope it wasn't too monotone! lol

  • @wolfdogfostermom you were fine :) i hope so too! people need to learn about these animals and you do a great job at it!

  • @APPLEHEAD2009,

    Thank you again.
