It is amazing indeed that a sizeable majority of the normally street-smart Americans would vote for someone with a mysterious bsckground, a mediocre CV and a history of association with bad hats. To throw their lot with such a candidate points to the sheer despair and desperation of the American hoi polloi over their current bread-and-butter predicament as well as to their low tolerance for pain, which was never a problem in the past.
