I think that whenever a hit is intentional AND puts a player out for awhile. I think the player who hit him should be out for as long as the injured player, not just in hockey but in ALL sports.

This may the first time I remember a good hit forcing the guy throwing the hit to fight. A nice, clean open ice hit does draw more of a response than these blindsiders!!!! I just love how every time there is a brutal hit in the NHL all of the macho tough guys say that it is the injured player's fault for getting hit. Then they bring up the fact that they learned to keep their head up in minor hockey. Listen idiots, these guys are supposedly the best of the best. Even they get caught blindsided so it is not the injured players "fault". The NHL has a problem with concussions and they are trying to do something about it. If they don't, players careers are done.

Remeber in 2008 when he drilled Leaf's Mike Van Ryn from behind and ended his career. Broken hand, broken jaw, lost teeth, concussion, what a gutless player. Look up that hit on Youtube under Mike Van Ryn and see for yourself. He has history of crap like this, but in Bettman's NHL this is OK, it is fighting that is bad. More people hurt with hits like this now than before when they had to answer the bell for their cheap shots. It hurts to see what the league has become now.

Actually, you should probably get to a doctor as soon as possible because you apparently can't see anything that is 3 feet in front of you. Kostopoulos wasn't going for the puck at all, he had his crosshairs on Stuart, and got him right in the head. It doesn't matter if it happened a second after he tried to shoot the puck away, he hit him in the head. There's nothing more to say.
