It goes forward in a straight line & turns to one side in reverse. This sounds lame, but actually works well. I've had fun driving around with some accuracy, and it's very simple and easy for kids to control. The car is durable and soft and won't damage anything. As with anything like this, it eats batteries. It takes 6 AA cells in the car and a 9v in the controller. When it has new batteries, it flies. It is a very well designed toy, and I recommend it.
