My mom had a stroke - She had it on the right side stroke wo the Left side works and the right side doesn't. She doesn't feel euphoria she feels separate and alone and completely isolated. What do we do about this to help her bring back her right side of her brain?
LOL - thanks to Jill, she's described what most RIGHT HEMISPHERE DOMINANT people experience. I also think she's onto something that connects to Autism Spectrum Disorders. God Bless her Spirit, and her beautiful determination to share the revelations of her experience.
She has made me no longer afraid of death. I'm going to go trip some mushrooms now and see how far I can go without having to almost die to get there. I almost died a few times but I passed out and unfortunately I couldn't even analyze things on that level. She obviously has a very strong mind and spirit. I give her props for even having the capacity to dial a phone with that many obstacles she is obviously a genius anyone else would have perished or simply given into the euphoria.
@frantastic2012 Not realy, she experienced her stroke according to the position of the emmorrage. In other words the only way to have it just like her's is to have it in exactly the same area of the brain.
tho im very spiritual :P u just need to be very perceptive about every-day experiences, all the time our brains are judging this senses of 'energy' and in 'intentions' 'feelings', etc etc we just have to give a sense to all of it :)
im sure an episode like this is of great insight, but overall i think consiousness and individuality, perhaps even to the extent of collective consciousness, is kinda more interesting, because it stands from the rest of what we actually experience in reality: we are actually all part of everything. makes me recall Baudelaire, who comments about sexuality in living organisms, the "differentiation", distinction from the "whole", the nostalgia in clonation, of non-differentiation, un-individuality
To universalist54, I do know that with concussion, I am not the only one that had a heightened awareness about what part of my brain was doing the thinking or telling my body to move. It is almost impossible to explain to someone who has never had the experiance. There is a Center for Brain Injury in Atlanta, Georgia, you might find better answers there if you are really interested.
I have had a similar experiance, only with me it was a major concussion. Especially grabbing ahold of the moments of focus and clairity. I found that the more I tried to hold on to those moments, the longer they got. I had a 1 year old son at the time, and I had to take care of him. I still have problems every now and then, but it took me almost 2 years before I could function. I did this alone, I had nobody to help, and the comcussion was from domestic violence, that was not reportable.
I have almost the same spiritual beliefs which I have reached through scientific knowledge to a point & after that on pure logic.
But she has tried to make people believe as if it were scientific facts that the left hemisphere acts in this particular way & the right does that way. There are no proofs of such working of hemispheres which could be verified by other scientists & experiments. So this misrepresenting is wrong.
If there are any such proofs I'll be much grateful to have them.
I don't think brain works in left & right hemispheres so simply & specifically. There are people who have just one hemisphere working & they can perform all jobs like a normal person. So one hemisphere performing the job of two hemispheres.
Her talk is not so scientific though I wish it was so since it would make life so very easy.
Hence all I can say is, on spiritual plane, concepts of Nirvana etc. are attractive & comforting but scientific evidence as per my knowledge defies her theory.
wow those TED conferences are simply marvelous. It's great to see amazing minds coming together with personal discoveries and sharing it with the world
Amazing!!! all she said here...is true! As a student of life, energy, love and light....I do know....what she is saying....is right!. She explained this so easy to understand...! Awesome.
This is how I feel ,, all the time! Always watching. I learned very early to try and take ,,control of myself because I knew that the way I was raised was,,,,wrong and harmful. I was being abused. I knew if I didn't exercise the part they "didn't get to" it would take over. Any kind of Nervous system ,,trauma. As long as it isn't overwhelming enough to take all of you, just practice, Meditate,I watch my body all the time acting from past programming and not how I really want.
its surely not the best analogy but.... sometimes i do amazing delicate and coherent stuff when im drunk :S my brain loves me so much and i just treat it so bad sometimes
Human brains does haw this are where "hallusinations" are formed and drugs simply stimulates this area.. You can haw efekts and hallusionations like she is telling in video just by meditating but it reguirs lot of training. Training is good to start with some mild drugs like weed. When you know how these hallusinations start when you are stoned you can try to create same efekts when you are sobber. same with mental orgasm wich is much stronger than basick orgasm with ejaculation.
