Poor CBS didn't even try this season. An ironic contrast to their upbeat Saturday morning theme: Saturday Rocks. As a kid, I only watched the holiday specials on CBS primetime. Charlie Brown doesn't seem the same since he was moved to ABC.
CBS wasn't feeling the ratings in 1988, as they were getting their asses kicked by NBC and ABC thanks to The Cosby Show and Roseanne respectively (Carsey-Werner are to comedies as Hanna-Barbera were to animation and Goodson-Todman were to game shows).
@johnnyafairbanks It was bound to happen seeing as though CBS had just canceled Magnum P.I. And not even Dallas could save them in the ratings. Ironically, the show that would later put CBS back on its feet, "Murphy Brown" debuted this season.
Very advanced for 1988. This was the beginning period of CBS' free fall in the ratings. Now CBS is on top. My favorite is ABC, but CBS is good too. It has Cold Case. I'm afraid FOX will become too powerful with Idol, especially with the Strike persisting.

Murphy Brown premiered on the same day I was born! November 14th. The only difference was that Murphy Brown was born in 1988 and I was born in 1995.
