  • Thanks for the video - I need to prune a peach tree so will use your technique

  • thank you very much.

your explanation on how to prune fruit trees is simple but easy to understand.

  • So do you knock all the limbs off the centre ? and just take off about a third right

  • Very well done, you explained everything much better than the videos i have seen so far on pruning, my only complaint is that the you need to do more of a close up on the tree so we can see what you are doing better. Gday to you in Australia from Israel.

  • Nice videos doode!

  • where are you located? David Ringo (georgia USA)

  • i planted a standard bing and a standard black tartarian about 5 or 6 years ago. I wasnt well informed about pruning. Now I have two big cherry trees with plenty of big leaves but no cherries. i want to start pruning but I have been warned not to if they are two old. What would you recomend? Thanks! This video is great and Im gonna go ahead and prune my younger cherries.

  • Good info and video - nice boots too! :)

  • I love the sound of those birds.........

  • This is exactly what we needed to see, a demonstration. Thank you kindly.. There is not a lot of need to prune fruit trees back home in Russia, but here in California, it has become one of our hobbies. Isk & Tsk Youyousova

  • Get the gist but what time of year should i prune my cherry?

  • I have 2 cherry trees that I bought and put in the ground 3 years ago. I never pruned it. How much would you say I should prune it now?

Is it OK to taKe of all of this years growth?

I pruned a a pear tree too much one time(about 6 inches from the main trunk) and it killed it

  • Nicely done.

  • nice birds christian....very similar to my environment...good prunning tips...I do realize now there is more to it...letting sun in...avoiding the inner overcrowding...thanks....

  • good...but u should film closer..

  • I have twelve old fruit trees (8 apple, 1 cherry, 1 pear, and 2 plum). Moved in last summer. Did nothing to the trees. Harvested great fruit from almost all. Decided to prune this year. I'd like to prune them way back and sacrifice a year of fruit, but I've never pruned before today. (did a fair job, I think, on one little one). Should I be conservative on my pruning so as not to ruin the trees? They haven't had much love. Wonderful old varieties. Pruning is addictive.

  • Well done, very helpful video and information

  • Great vid mate... knowledge is always a good thing... i hope you will have a huge production this year...

  • Excellent video mate! really informative as to why a fruit tree is best pruned.

Lovely bird sounds in the background too!

    Keep giving us great videos!!!!

  • I was listening to the birds the whole video. It's interesting how different they sound in other parts of the world.

  • about 50 other trees

  • how many more did you have to pruneafter the video?
