  • ive heard one dog can cure asma and i want it :( but still awww

  • You should try Atopica. My shibas had really bad allergies but this daily medication has reduced/elliminated these symptoms. It is expensive but worth it!

  • @CaliforniaShiba:

My 6 year old Shiba has the same problem. We went through blood tests and tried serum. The shots did not work. We went to steroids. While that worked it look like this was going to be a long term problem. To take him off steroids we switched to Atopica. It lowers the immune system and avoids any organ problems of steroids.

  • @CaliforniaShiba I did research on Atopica once in the past and know shiba inus who are controlling their allergies with the medication. Since Sachi's allergy is only in the summer, and symptoms are not getting worse every year, I have not used any medication.

  • She's so beautiful.

  • I did not know that many Shibas have allergies. Interesting. Are they all allergies to 'outdoor/natural' elements or are some of them to 'other' things like foods, etc?

  • @speshalkinca Some are allergic to airborne particles like Sach is, and others have food allergies. It totally depends on the individual dog, but I do hear quite often that shiba inus are allergic to something.

  • Aw, my Suki's just like that. Looks like she has raccoon eyes. Shibas seem to have allergies at the same time.

  • Many Shibas I know have some sort of allergies, and Sachi seems to be allergic to ragweed. Yes, raccoon eye! I often think it is as if she did not do a good job applying eyeliner.
