There are secretions. And it's not the cytoplasm that's digesting it, it's a variety of hydrolytic enzymes within lysosomes that contact the foreign microbe and destroy its macromolecules. The dissolved waste material left after the microbe has been digested is then released into the extracellular fluid and it forms exudate, which is the pus stuff in wounds. It's the waste product of phagocytosis

No it is destroyed by lysosomes in the cell, which are basically enzymes enveloped in a membrane.
