  • Great Brush work Neils! I was looking for a good mambo instruction video for a student of mine and I found yours. (that's the one I'm going to teach him) Anyway, I have been looking at all of your videos again and they are soooooo good. What is your training? Where have you studied?

  • @dtdrummerlady Thank you! I appreciate the supportive comments. I studied with Alan Hall and George Marsh. Alan taught at Berklee for 8 years before moving out to the San Francisco area where I met him. George teaches at Sonoma State University, where I studied music. Both are amazing players whom I respect deeply. I still take lessons occasionally and study from books, YouTube, recordings, friends, getting my butt kicked on gigs, etc. A little better every year!
