  • that is so true dr chee. the pap has failed us in turning our precious little country into a public place available for anyone out there to come freely and take whatever they wish. we need leaders who are patriotic and only have the interest of the people in their hearts. our country will rot away slowly with the way the pap directs us.

  • Chee soon juan is my hero like socrates of athens, he choose to stay and fight rather then leave. Dr chee if u are reading this, I would like u to know that u are my hero. A person who gave up all for his country, for liberty, for freedom.

  • SINGAPORE MALAY WAKE UP...YOU ARE ACTUALLY BEING LEFT BEHIND ...THINK AGAIN LOOK AT THE MALAYS IN SINGAPORE..ARE THEY REALLY BEING ASSISTED TO BE SUCCESSFUL!!!!!

  • Hi Dr. Chee, your heart isn't right..... for evil heart speaks evils... We must appreciate the excellent leaders, who have done their possible best for our nation for the people so far; your dissatisfaction & your unknown motive drive you with wrong spirit.... not too late, let repent! Before God, His righteousness, speak true & kind words!

  • @inshore137

didn't the bible teach you to not be judgemental.

didn't the bible teach you to react with understanding and empathy.

we MUST appreciate the excellent leaders? gosh.you're delusional.you've been brainwashed.

you appear to not know the issues affecting the less-fortunate in singapore. my plea to you, if you have too much free time, go help the less-fortunate people in sg instead of posting such ridiculous statements down here. then you'll understand why Dr Chee is saying all these.

  • vote chee soon juan !

vote out the out the pap lky clique !

  • Persuasive speech.

  • You said that the immigration of cheap foreign workers is squeezing the lower and middle class, but isn't it true that many singaporeans nowadays do not want to take up low pay jobs that foreign workers take up? Moreover, our economy may not improve if there are not enough labour in the economy to sustain economic growth right? Even though I agree that the current immigration policy is rather careless, but it is essential to ensure that the pool of labour isn't reduced. What are your steps to d

  • @xxtengteng if you read Tan See Jay's 45 page paper on Singapore's economic policies and where it went wrong, the reason the PAP has been importing so many foreign workers is because they chose the wrong industry to use as the engine of growth- manufacturing which required a lot of manpower and land, both things we do not have. instead of going through politically painful economic restructuring they decided to prop up the industry by opening the floodgates instead. hence the situation now.

  • @xxtengteng :Did you remember when we had a shortage of teachers in the 90's ? what happened ? was it because Singaporeans didn't want to be teachers ? When the pay was adjusted up, how fast was it before this was no longer a problem ? If the cost of living keeps increasing while the wages are kept low through the importation of cheaper foreign workers, can you blame Singaporeans for being choosey ? What is the promise to Singaporeans if "affordable" is market based without minimum wage ?

  • @ccchamoxa Know what minimum wage is. It is not aimed at the average Singaporean; it is aimed at the under-privileged. During the elections, the SDP proposed a minimum wage of around S$5. That would mean a minimum salary of $800 a month (assuming 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month).

On a separate note, regarding immigration policy, xxtengteng is right. You can't cut immigration drastically. If you want to cut immigration, we have to balance this against the needs of businesses.

  • thumbs up... hope u will be the prime minister soon. lets put the singapore in place with its meaning. we the citizen of singapore pledge ourselves as ONE UNITED PEOPLE, REGARDLESS OF RACE, LANGUAGE OR RELIGION. to build a democratic society, based on justice and EQUALITY, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation.

  • Thumbs up if you wish he was your grc/smc mp..

  • eh..how come he talk normally deh? when i see him on TV, he act like mad man..

  • I think even if you are skeptical about how racial discrimination can be minimized in our society, you should agree its fair to remove it from our politics.

  • Spore eduation system is torted to be the best, yet after paying so much for it & producing scholars,we allows our SMRT to be runned by a Malaysian CEO who came from Duty Free Shop. The 55yr Malaysian woman is now laughing her way to the bank to collect her $1.8 million pay,in her new Ferrari. What happened to our Scholars

  • We know you are not the lunatic the 154th painted you. You will go down in Singapore history as an ICON CSJ!

  • Dr Chee, i salute you.

  • CSJ for PM!

  • 1. @ 2:06, what is your basis of saying that our Malay counter part are unhappy about that? If you do some homework, you will realise that the make up of Singapore's population is as such:

    1990 - Chinese-77.8 Malay-14.0 India-7.1 Others-1.1

    2010 - Chinese-74.1 Malay-13.4 India-9.2 Others-3.3

So what ethnic group dominance are you talking about? It is clear that the Chinese community is getting smaller, while Indian & Others are rising.

  • respect!

  • Lets get back the Singapore for Singaporeans!

  • Vote wisely..

  • Salute i do for you Dr Chee, not of your ideas or theories but rather of your undying fighting spirit and your indestructible passion to fight for democracy. But you're such a angry and unpatriotic person I would vote to be a leader. You're probably more like a educated psychopath to me who really hate the PAP and will go all out to bring them down. Dr Chee, you have the right spirit, right attitute and a everlasting determination. You just need to adjust and fine tune your mental state.

  • me double like your this speech SIR!!!

  • Well said, please vote wisely Singapore.

  • more population = more taxes = more pay for the ministers!! Whoohoo

  • This society which csj speaks of where all races treat each other equally is a hope shared by all singaporeans. However the examples cited by the opposition is of close friends who they can relate to. However the fact is chinese singaporeans will naturally trust other chinese singaporeans over a malay singaporean because of the vast cultural difference. they might overcome this prejudice over time but only over a period of deliberate bonding where they are put in close proximity to each other.

  • So how do you then plan to take away racial discrimination ?

  • @hellomoohere he's saying that regardless of malay chinese or indian or whatever, if you're a citizen you're a singaporean.

  • singaporeans! wake up will u'll! y you ppl are still voting for p@#!!! please don't spoil the younger generation lives in singapore!

  • Well said CSJ !!

  • In my personal opinion, SDP and PAP should work together. From What I can see and heard over the years, both PAP and SDP have their own views and some does make sense. I am not a politician but I hope one day, regardless of which political party, regardless of which race, Let us all be unify. I hope one day PAP and SDP would sit down and talk instead of suing or attack one another.

  • @fah85 This will only happen if plural voices are heard in the parliament. By voting oppos in, your "vision" of SDP and PAP sitting down together and talk will become true.

  • HEY GOOD SPEECH!!! You're truly reading a scripts... I HATE how they want 6.5 million but NOT UNDERSTANDING THAT Singapore is an ISLAND... DO YOU understand the supply and demand???... I was born in Singapore but I'm proud not to be there.

  • Good Speech..... hope that Singaporean will hear and see what you are saying are really happening around them.God bless us Singaporean and end the madness of PAP!

  • thumbs up if you think SDP needs a few hundred Billion dollar corporation to have the power to change the tide..

  • Politics is a double edged sword. You cant do everything to please the whole world. I agree the massive flooding of FT is too much. But if there is absolutely no FT coming in, and with our pathetic birth rates ...

Somewhere the line must be drawn, to compromise everyone.

  • well said but to me the 1 world union is coming soon.

  • It is good publicity for SDP to produce timely messages to counteract Government responses to various issues from time to time. Well done! However, it would be better if you guys elaborated on solutions to national issues. Also please note the Indian community is hit worse than Malays. The Government is accepting hordes of North Indians, who traditionally despise South Indians such as Tamils who are considered to be of a lower caste (stupid concept) and much inferior to them!

  • @jims642 dont divide Indians further by making self-defeating statements like this. I treat SOuth Indians as my equals and my friends are both from North and South. I guess you wont enjoy that.

  • @jims642 What evidence do you have to prove that "North Indians traditionally despise South Indians"? We have been getting on fine for millenia !!!

  • 1) nice efforts for summarizing the problems faced by Singapore currently.

    2) might I ask if what ideas does SDP have to correct these problems and guide Singapore the better?

This video of yours only bring across one point, problem faced by Singapore and nothing more. To win more votes for the upcoming election, I hope SDP to come up with good ideas that could benefit Singapore and solved these problems.

  • Well said...

    Let ur voice be heard..

  • reformasi!
