  • ....I am really terrible at math but I want to become a videogame programmer... So what do I do?

  • @Roboninks learn math

  • have you ever played shadow of the colossus?????

  • thumbs up if you have aspergers!!! i do!!

  • Do you teach in America? :<

    And you teach kids openGL? Wow!

  • I think the easiest to start with is Python+PyGame or just Lua.

  • I looked up 4kids and got this.

  • wait nvm this is camp.... do you know of any free online classes for my age group

  • do you recommend this for teens (13) up that are intrested in learning video game programming

  • the game with XNA advanced is really made by you?

  • what is the minimum and maximum age groups

  • Blender GameEnginge + Python ftw :D

  • great article.....reall fun

  • i  use XNA

  • the background music is from Shadow of the Colossus, isn't it? :)

  • erm, i need help making Pacman move in my program... I am using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition and i cant get pacman to move! D: I made a picturebox named Pacman and put a picture in it and everything! help please! I typed:

    Public Class Morroku  Public Sub MovePacman() If e.keycode = Keys.Up Then Pacman.Top = Pacman.Top - 10 End Sub

    End Class

    Help please????the word "e" is not declared, but i thought i used the name "e" in your class :S help me please?

  • and the lines of code that are together in my comment are spaced apart in my program, youtube made then lusted together though..please help me if you can!Because I want to create a Pacman program at my house also :D

  • clustered*

  • IDK basic, but you usually make x and y variables and use the key to control those variables.

  • Do whatever like "button1.click"

    {

    pacman.top -= 1

    }

  • Oh how I despise Visual Basic their syntax is so odd, cluttered and irregular.

    For programming games I'd recommend either Java or C++.

    Java is portable, and relatively easy to learn.

    C++ is difficult to learn, isn't portable, faster than Java.

    If you're gonna make 3D games in Java I'd recommend Java 3D API because it's very fast, while JOGL (Java's OpenGL bindings) is slower (or so I've heard).

    And I wouldn't recommend making your own raycaster/raytracer because chances are, it'll be slow.

  • Ah, I got it backwards JOGL is faster than J3D but JOGL is a lower-level API.

  • wow! you sir just motivated me!

  • To all of you newbs in programming....My tip is that you start with C++. Yes I know its hard and all that. But when you know the basics you can use a engine like DarkGDK that renders the graphics for you.

  • We don't share that opinion, but thank you for your input!

  • @CrazyKuddie well said!!!!

  • @CrazyKuddie C++ is pretty intimidating especially for beginners. Java, C#, and languages like that are probably the best ones to go with for a starter. C++ is something you should grow into, not just jump in without experience (in my opinion anyway).

  • @SuperRobotGames A agree in some way. Since this was a long time ago, i have changed my ways. I have actually started programming in Java and i found it to be much better. I will also upload tutorials in the near future.

  • I thought the video was awsome I'm currently a student in devry for game simulation programming. I just started

  • Thanks! Best of luck in your programming career!

  • man for this u should know a programming language right?

  • Absolutely not. No programming experience is necessary. We TEACH you how to program in Visual Basic, C#, Java, C++ while showing you how to create video games. Many of our students have never programmed before, but start out learning visual basic, and move up the ranks to things as complicated as OpenGL! Some of our students have become so good at computer programming, they become our instructors!

  • @RealProgramming4Kids okay i call you and then what? talk over the phone or i got to a class

  • @who885 First you call us at 1-877-307-3456 and we set up a free trial class to see if you enjoy it and for us to determine which class would be the best fit for you. If you have fun and we think we have a course that would be a good fit for you then you can sign up!
